Army question

redox

V.I.P.
when i take the asvab what do i have to study to score high in GT:"General Technical"i must score a minimum of 110,could somebody tell me a good book to study on?

ASVAB Study guides are for sale at most good book stores. It only gives you examples of the type of questions, not the exact questions.

ASVAB

Yea as long as you have basic math skills and comprehension...then you should score 110 with no problem....I took it and scored high too...Went out the night before and took it with a hangover and scored high on the test as well...

Cyphon right, you should have no problem...Just don't take it likely b/c it will decide what kind of job you do and how far you advance in the military...

GT - General Technical: VE+AR. What this means is you have to score good on these 2 sections of the ASVAB to get the score your looking for. Also you need to understand that just doing that does not mean they actually have that job opening when you try to enlist. Some of these jobs don't have opening for years at a time. I was a NAVY recruiter and I dealt with this for 3 years.

Well i got a couple of books and i am gonna study, but the most important thingh for me is to move to the states soon,i graduated from high school in 94,did a bit of college in 95 and since then i never left europe and my english is quite rusty,at college i used to write term papers and now i have problems writing this few sentences that for sure are full of errors, but i think that after a couple of months in the states my english will become as good as it was....hopefully:D

Redox,

When I they wanted me to go into the Nuclear Field, but they also wanted 6 years. Six years sounded like a long time, so I chose to be a Hull Tech (welder) which required a much lower score.

What I am trying to say is, score as high as you can and then you will have more options. Also, take some time to decide what you want to do, don't let the recruiter force you into a decision that day - recruiters can be a little pushy because they are required to fill certain rates.

Make sure you go in with a guaranteed school. You don't want to go in as any of the generalists in the Navy (Airman, Seaman, Fireman). You will have very little control over where you get placed on a ship.

Good luck.

well as long as i am in the airborne is fine for me,when i was in the army in italy i was in the infantry and i used to drive M113,so as a mos either 11b or 14r would be allright for me

Some jobs also require you to be a US Citizen, so far from your posts I am not sure of your citizenship. Also some services won't touch prior US service le alone from other countries. Before you put too much time and effort into studying you should talk to a US recruiter and find out if you are even enlistment qualified. If you graduated from HS in another country, your records will have to be evaluated by an Education Specialist from MEPS or the branch of service headquarters. I tried to enlist an individual that graduated in Germany and had to go through a lot to even get him qualified.

Are you looking to get into the army? Anyway its been almost 9yrs since I took the ASVAB I scored high in the sequencing and was contacted repeatedly for the next couple of years about coding and decoding and math is my worst sub, anyways bro if you arent psyched about the military dont rely on studying to hard for this test

study the basic skills reading, english comp, math, and science, mechanical and of course your arith reasoning.

as an 11b or the other 14r you will need to make sure you physical endurance is up too, youcannot pink slip out if you do then your study time has been wasted.

look into military.com they can help you learn all you need to with this, i dont want to comment on the military kinda gets me all warm and fuzzy inside again..lol

endurance
