They had a 48 Hours story on a high school boy that took roids and ended up hanging himself in his parent's home.
His coach told him that he needed to be bigger- he played baseball- he was a pitcher.
His friend was also on and almost killed himself in a car. Both crashed badly- no PCT it sounds like. And then you hear these politicos that say something must be done to stop the selling of AS in the US.
I hate to see people die, but it was obvious that these two boys were very inexperienced and did not research whatsoever....

I did not watch the show, but read some other posts, and part of the transcript on another board.Being a parent myself, it's diturbing, and I certainly feel for those involed in such circumstances, BUT, the most diturbing part to me is parents that want to blame everything on society, and everybody else.
Being a Parent is not easy all of the time, especially when the teen years are coming, and it takes alot of constant effort sometimes, and be-it there are certain things kids do as a part of growing up, learning, experimenting, there are so many ways to be involved in your childs life, maybe not first hand (yea, like a teenager wants you around), but to give information, to check in, to know their friends and surroundings.
I will tell my daughter about achohol and drugs, steroids, sex, guns, religion...or whatever...and will not leave it up to the schools or government to babysit for me...and she also knows that coming to myself or her mother is always her best option for information.I am her freind, but I am also her Father.

Peace

when are people in the U.S gonna start taking responsibility for their own actions. Its never their fault there must be someone or something else we can blame atittude. I feel sorry for them both but don't smash your hand with a hammer and then blame the hammer! I find it hard to believe that the parents didn't know their kids were using steriods. I mean if joey weights 145lbs and 10wks later he's 20lbs bigger wouldn't that tell you something? But like anything else there is always two sides to the story and what ever side your on thats whats right, I guess...

yeah I saw that B.S. kid must of been related to the kid who killed himself listening to ozzy's suicide solutions. I wonder if anybody ever thinks: hey this 14 yr old kid is shooting anabolic steroids to try to look and feel better about himself! hhhmmmmm maybe he has self-esteem and depression problems? nah must be the roids

I seen it a while ago, it is a shame and i feel for the mother and father but they didnt seem to be "hands on" type of parents from what they were saying about working and their lifestyles as a family, it all starts at home and 9 times out of 10 its the parents who failed their child, not saying this is the exact case here but all they did was point fingers
