i have a few questions on stevia.....is it better than splenda and how many calories does it have in comparison to splenda

Im looking for a sugar alternative during my diet
(i am open to any other suggestions from the pros on what they do for sugar cravings)

Copied from the splenda website courtesy of ColdHeartBear:

Like other tabletop sweeteners, the granular and packet products contain bulking ingredients, dextrose and/or maltodextrin, which are natural food ingredients. These ingredients provide volume and contain an insignificant amount of carbohydrate (less than 1 gram) and calories (less than 5) per serving, so that SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener meets FDA's standards for "no-calorie" foods.

Point is SPLENDA IS NOT A ZERO CALORIE FOOD. Its a government scam that allows them to call it that even though it has close to 5 cals per serving. And a serving isnt much if u r making koolaid with it.

Sorry I'm not familiar with stevia maybe someone else can chime in. hope that helps.

stick with stevia, I like to mix the two because stevia can be to damn sweet and it doesnt mix well in oatmeal....... use both but stick mainly to setvia for sweetner.... you go a show coming up??

I use both.....Splenda and Stevia are sugar replacements.

SPLENDA: for every 1tsp it has 2Cals and 0.5 Carbs
STEVIA: for every 1tsp its has XCals and 1 Carb

My point is they are both excellent products. The only draw back is that Stevia (IMO) has a different taste to it which takes time to get use to. Where as Splenda tastes more like sugar!

Any ways. Here is where you can get some good info on both:
