I was just watching the news and am realizing the devestation. As of right now the death toll is 80,000 and officials are expecting the totals to go well over 100,000 before it all over. Imagine, that for most of us who live in small towns outside of major cities 100,000 is more than the local population. Sad to have to come to grips with the fact that we are not in control. itis also estimated that 50 million people run the risk of infection due to contaminated wter supplies and spreading diseases due to the catastrophie. In the end this is so much mroe traumatic than what we experienced here as far as losses go only in the loss of life. Of sygnificant interest is the fact that there were many tourist from other countries including the US who are missing and or reported dead. Every one should remember those who are suffering losses due to this natural disaster.
Such a tragedy something most of us could never imagine happening ever.

Yeah bud, that has made me a bit sad every day when I read or watch the news. Last I heard it was 120,000 dead and rising. That is a disgusting amount of life lost.

And whatz worse is that ppl dont want the bodies cremated but if they dont disease will overun the place and more will die before its over.

today they raised the toll to 150,000 and counting..Please help out with prayers and thoughts to the families and friends of the victims..

This is a terrable and sad tragedy...Last I heard the U.S. had increased their contributions to nearly 1million ilcuding red cross contributions from with in the U.S....we are the leading nation donating funds for disaster relief for the Tsunami. People are driving ten hours non stop from malaysia and other areas near by to help out with search and rescue efforts as well as disburse relief funds. The news tonight noted how at a time when the entire world is normaly joined togeather in celebration, New Years festivities in southeast asia and surrounding areas are joined in morning. Keep these people in your prayers. Once again we here in the U.S. are reminded of how blessed we are...if you look back we have never suffered from a natural disaster with any comparrison to what has befallen these people.
