hello everyone!!!

ive been training and started a strict clean diet for about 2 months and my weight increased the first month to about 134lbs from 125 (5'4) and now im at about 128 and the weight wont budge. I eat about 1400 cals a day with 6 meals each with 25 grams of protein from chicken, white fish, egg whites and tuna and brown rice and yams for my starches with each meal (of course veggies with low GI).
i fat burn about 45-60 mins 5-6 days a week (one day i do 45 mins of plyometircs) with weight training 5 days a week (supersets)..my concern is that before i did fitness i responded to the diet soo well and now the second time it seems like my body is taking its sweet time to respond. My goal weight is 112lbs -110 lbs lean .any suggestions????

here is my diet:

meal 1: 1 oz of dry oatmeal and 6 egg whites
meals 2-6: 100 cals of protien, 90 cals of veggies and 70 from starches

Throw in a cheat day, you weight loss will stall if you don't because your thyroid will get down regulated, because your taking in less food why should it keep running hot like it normally does? So once a week have a cheat meal, i'm talkin PIG OUT like stuff your face with McDonalds, you should feel your body heat up, this meal will wake up your thyroid. If your still finding you body isn't dropping weight anymore you could try having a cheat day where u pig out all day, then eat extremely clean for the rest of the week. Guggulsteroines could also help your thyroid, Nutrex's Lipo-6 is an excellent ephedra free thermogenic u could try. Keep us posted.

And i would say you may want to throw in some intervals in place of the low steady that will drop weight for sure.

:) i have lost 6 pounds in the last two months by simply increasing my activity levels and by cleaning up my diet quite a bit. I agree with the guys simply mix it up and try something different. I think that everyones body is unique and you kind of have to try different things and find out what works specifically for you.

Also what are you stats?? especially height.

thanks guys!!

well im 5'4 and started at 123lbs before the diet and strict training and now at 129lbs...i think i need to do the hypocaloric days with a hypercaloric day to boost my metabolism...

what do you think if i take 1 week of double fat burning session of 2-3 45 mins sessions and no weights? this has been suggested by a fellow fitness competitor...
OR should i just take a whole week off and stick to protein and low low carbs?
oh yes and my muscles are definitely are dense and more sculpted than before so the inital weight gain could be from that.
Also i do 45 mins of intervals once a a week because i instruct a boot camp class..should i do more?

Well definitely try the cheat day like i suggested, but also do your cardio on an empty stomach, this will burn as much fat as possible. What supplements are you using?

Yes, i would say try doing 2 and perhaps even 3 days of interval cardio sessions this always drops bf%. It has been shown to be far more effective than long steady cardio for burning fat, tightening, and toning the muscles.

cool .... if i cut my carbs out of meals 5-6, would my calories be too low..and will I hold onto more body fat? Right now i eat 1400 cals per day so if i cut out carbs in my last 2 meals it will put me down to 1360.

for supplements i use a redline drink twice-3 times a week (when i feel tired), and Multivitamins. I stay away from protein powders because it doesnt agree with me at all.

i will definetly do more interval sessions and cut my starches out of meal 5-6...
how much is too low of calories??? i was told by my trainer that if i go too low, my body will hold onto the weight???

Replace those lost calories with calories from protein, and try to get most if not all of your carbs from vegetables, specifically the dark green ones, so asparagus, green beans, brocoli, lettuce etc. These are low in calories, high in fiber and you are able to eat larger servings because of the low calories so you will stay satisfied longer. Also if you really wanna sweat your ass off, try having some grapefruit juice along with your redline, it extends the halflife of caffeine so it will give the redline more kick.

Oh one other thing, try to take in the majority of your carbs post-workout, to insure they are shuttled into your muscles. And keep trying to progress on the weights you use this will boost your testosterone and growth hormone levels, plus the added muscle will help you to burn more calories.

wow thanks chaps for the pointers

i didnt know that grapefruit juice extends the half life of the caffeine..how much of it should i drink? 1 cup before workout?

A cup along with a serving of Redline, speaking of which how is Redline I hear it's like liquid crack, lol. Also make sure to be drinking a couple litres of water a day, specifically ice cold water, i usually toss in half a tray of ice cube in a 1litre bottle along with my water. Drinking ice cold water can actually result in a 200calorie expenditure per day because your body must bring the water up to your body's temperature so this whole process burns calores, neat eh. You may not even need a cup of grapefruit juice, you should just experiment, everyone is different. I was taking shots of it after popping an E/C/A stack and i just felt a huge heat wave fly up my back, you'll be sweatin bullets.

thanks chaps...for the info!!!

however, i upped my veggies and cut my carbs in my last two meals, but its giving me stomach cramps from all that fiber...what do you think i should do? i was suggested to put udos oil to compensate for the lost calories....

try some EFA's....or some olive oil. Fiber is a good thing, but too much and you'll be running to the bathroom all day. lol.

Do you have a carb cutoff time?

Hell yeah, EFA's inplace of carbs will help ya cut and you wont drop weight as much. You need certain types of fat to burn fat and when ppl run low fat they only hurt themselve b/c you start to slow your metabolism down and hold onto fat.

If ur not adding EFA's like Hemp Oil, Borage Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, try it.
