Was talking to a guy I know about IGF and he claimed that IGF increased the rate of growth in cancerous cells, this is something which I had not read anywhere before, do any of you know is there any truth in this at all?

ofcourse there is truth in it bro, what exactly did you think igf did? it doesnt specificly target them but like anything else they to may grow, hell steroids build muscle and guess what your heart enlarges to, thats not such a great thing is it, its a give and take bro, and as with anything comes risk

I am aware of the enlarging of the heart with AS and think it is a relatively small risk until you go to megadoses, is it similar with IGF? Basically to the positive effects of IGF make it worth the risk, bearing in mind that I have a sensible approach to drug use but still want to get bigger and better for love of the sport.

Totally understand bro, glad to see you have an objective view on it. Definitely going to give it a go as I have read so much positive info on it and hey you look pretty damn big and still healthy from your pics so it mustn't be doing you much harm.
On a totally different subject is Genesis still basically MC supplements? What kits are you thinking of stocking, not really clued into this side of things yet.

there is absolutely a risk of increasing the rate of growth of cancerous cells through igf-i. this seems to depend on the type of cancer. many studies have indicated a big part of why nolvadex is so good at stopping all kinds of breast cancer, even ones that have mutated past the need for estrogen, is that it also suppresses igf-i levels severely. people with acromegaly(excessive GH production) are at a much greater risk for cancers like colon cancer. at the same time, there is no demonstrated link between serum igf-i, igfbp, or other GH-related levels and cancer risk or mortality. so, it may be there aren't many cancers reliant on serum igf-i for their growth. this would be consistent with the idea that autocrine production of igf-i triggered by gh is much more important than hepatic igf-i for most of these organs.

needless to say, this is a subject of intense controversy in the medical community right now as GH is prescribed to aging patients. there is no consensus and more epidemiological and clinical data is needed.

if you're young i wouldn't worry too much about it, but this is one of the greatest risks of igf-i use.

I don't have any data but there have been several reputable medical reports that indicate IGF-1 does increase cancer rates and the most dramatic increase was relative to Prostate cancer. Sorry no medical data to cite here at the moment. Also I'm not sure if the test subjects were healthy adults or primarily AIDS patients which could also skew the results since immunosuppression put them at much higher risk for virtually everything.

We had moved MC's store to Genesis (diff owner), but it wasn't working out, so we moved it back. It is the good ol' MuscleChemistry Advanced Supplements store again, only better!
