Been using it for years.....Considered by many life extension advocates to be the single most important drug for life extension.

I take 500mg with every carb containing meal not to exceed 3000mg/daily total.

Metformin helps keep insulin efficiently working so you dont get into a hyperglycemic state which many encounter in the carb rich diets of today.

I found it helps keep my blood sugar stable thus avoiding additional body fat that could have been attributed to excessive carb intake.

It depletes you of B vitamins, so extra B vitamin intake would be warranted.

P.S. Some say stacking Metformin/creatine/ High carbs works great.

How does it compare to something like R-ALA? I'm quite carb sensitive and something like metformin would be great, i've read up on it before but forgot about it till now.

Actually I found ALA to be quite good. Either way is good. You should try them both.
