Whatman or Milipore filters?

I got some once and I don't remember what brand they were (come in a kit), but I blew them both out. I remember they didn't look like whatmans though.
I always buy extra whatmans to keep around.

I have always used Whatman when experimenting on Thee Animal. If it ain't broke why change it (the prices are similar). Thee Animal has never got an infection or any problems.

By the way, has anyone researched filtration of pyrogen from IGF powder. I'm cool from your posts on killing the bacteria (AA or BA) but want to make sure I am not missing something improtant on removing pyrogen. Do I need to do this and if so, how? Everything I've seen relates to water purification on large scale, bot at all relevant to my research. Thanks again

Quick update:
I ordered two of the Milipore filters just to compare to the old favorite Whatmans. After trying the first one, I threw the second one out and finished the batch using Whatman's. Whatman's are significantly easier to filter thru compared to the Milipore's. Maybe the larger surface area of the Milipore was the reason that it took more pressure to flow thru, but whatever the reason was - the whatman's were much easier to use. Dang I hate sore fingers, lol.

A member on another board posted this info:

"here you can get the exact same cellulose acetate filters as whatman, 50 for $74.00, so 1.48 each.

http://www.coleparmer.com/catalog/product_view.asp?sku=0291512&cls=1261&par=&cat=1&sch=80&pfx=&lstBool=true"

I haven't tried these filters. Does anyone here know anything about them? Sure is a great price.

colepalmer work fine and cost a hell alot less!!!!
there are a few other off name syringe filters that work just as good and a whole lot cheaper!!!
