Hi bro here is part of an article I wrote for our darkside site hope some of it helps
Here is some information I have gathered on IGF from various sources over the past few months, I am sorry it will be a little disorganised and I can't credit the authors as I simply can't remember where I got most of it from I just trawl through medical and bodybuilding sites and literature and take info from them.
IGF-1LR3 is the long acting form of Insulin like growth factor which is responsible for helping cells grow. As bodybuilders we are most interested in the effects on muscle cells. IGF is also a potent fat burner.
Growth hormone converts to IGF in the body at the rate of 4-6 mcg's per I.U. of growth so it works out as the cheaper option to growth. Obviously GH has some other benefits but most of these are for the older athlete.
IGF has a 12-14 active period within the body so 2 shots a day means a 24 hour anabolic effect. This effect can be increased by the use of insulin, it is claimed that insulin dubles the effect of the IGF but on the downside the effect of the insulin is greatly increased, I read it is magnified by 4 times. For this reason you should only use a small amount of insulin with the IGF no more than 4 i.u. to start. The chances of going hypo are much greater. You need to consume a lot of carbs after your insulin shot. O the plus side however it is very hard to gain fat on IGF so if you enjoy eating it is perfect for you, just be careful with it I don't want to see anybody getting hurt.
IGF should be injected intramuscular as sub-q injections will leave a nasty lump under the skin. The best way to take your shot is a.m. and p.m. about 12 hours apart for the 24 hour anabolic effect. It will produce some localised growth in the muscle it is injected into and then further growth throughout the body. I currently am using it in the outer head of my bicep the lower outer part of my quad and my front delts as I see these as mt lagging bodyparts.
For injection you use a slin pin, the ones with the longer pin cant remember the size off hand but I can find out by looking in my little box of tricks if anyone doesn't know which I mean. IGF must be mixed with bacteriostic water for injection. IGtropin comes with everything in one kit, otherwise you can buy the water separately anyway.
IGF really increases your appetite and leaves you constantly pumped, a great vanity drug as well then. It won't pack on huge quantities of mass but it will give some qualtiy lean gains while burning fat.
An interesting point is that exercise does not upregulate IGF receptors so there is no need to inject it into the muscle you trained so just blast it into those lagging bodyparts, and you can put it in anywhere within them, try putting prop into the outer head of your bi, it will hurt this does not.
Exercise does however upregulate insulin receptors so using both compounds is advisable but as I said earlier be careful.
Time on IGF must equal time off the drug, no exceptions. We all talk about this theory for gear but most don't follow it with IGF you must. The optimum time on is reported at 50 days. I have set out below two dosing strategies.
If you have 2 kits 2000 mcgs in total simply take 40 mcgs a day split into two shots for 50 days.
The next is however the optimum dosing strategy to solidify the gains from it and to keep it at full potency throughout the whole 50 days.
For this you will need 3000 mcgs (3 kits)
40 days at 50 mcgs every day in 2 shots
10 days at 100 mcgs per day in 2 shots a day
It has been reported that IGF loses it effectiveness towards the end of the course so by doubling the dose you will get an extra kick, I plan to try this out for my next course probably around August.
Now there are some other possible risks to IGF. It is not yet fully understood so these are only possible dangers.
IGF may deplete your reserve of stem cells by forming new muscle cells which could theoretically lead to problems in later life.
IGF may accelerate the growth of cancerous cells in the same way it accelerates growth in muscle cells.
