Considering moving

Hi guys, I am seriously considering moving to the US or Canada and would appreciate any advice on the subject. Am doing a lot of research at the minute. I have a bachelors degree in property investment and real estate management and a professional charter in property valuation so am looking into jobs in this sector. Anyone know if there are decent job opportunities for this profession.
Thanks in advance

well to be perfectly honest with you if you are looking at getting into real estate go to FL...the property is skyrocketing anywhere there...even with the hurricanes and such
to give you an example I know some clowns that bought a condo about a block away from the beach for $500K 2 years ago now it's worth more than double that
half the people that I meet in this state are into real estate-selling,fiancing,etc

Ya... florida is good or arizona, stay away from california, and michigan. Aother than that, I dont know.

I will disagree with the rest. I'm in my mid thirties and have lived in both Northern California and South Florida. I wouldn't want to live there anymore, because of millions of other people. Cost of living is higher than most places. The only real benefit is the ocean. IN Florida you'll sweat your balls off.

If you are older and have a family, come to the midwest. People will actually say hi to you here without wanting something from you, and when you go anywhere you won't have to stand in line, waiting and waiting. Schools are better, and there is a stronger work ethic. There is little traffic compared to the coasts. The changing of spring, summer, fall, and winter can actually be quite enjoyable.

Sorry if I piss off people with this post, it is the sum of my experiences.

Well it all comes down to what you are looking for bro! Me personally I live in an area in Southern California where you will expect to pay $700-900 thousand for a 3 bed room home and it mostlikely a fixer upper. But the weather here is around 72 degrees and sunny even during most winters. The traffic is nothing and the crime rate extremely low. You can go for a walk at 2AM and not worry about anything. Ocean views and old panish style homes. Alot of other cities and states you could buy a mantion with that much money. But at what cost? Shitty weather, high crime rate and cost of living is cheaper but then again jobs may not pay as much so it may even out. So just think about what you are willing to sacrifice for cheaper cost of living. Good luck!

Now I could live with that (except the price of course). I purchased a ten year old home with 3000 sq. feet on nine acres with seven of it timber... For 225,000.00 (but then again I have to deal with the winters) :)

There are many places that have booming real estate markets, some of which are small places in that you wouldn't expect it. Do your research, and you'll find the right place. All depends on if you want to be by lots of people or not.

I kind of disagree with California. Today you can make serious jack( sister made $200,000 on her first house, hoping to make at least that on her second) in California. However, the majority of the housing markets in California will hit their saturation point(5 yrs maybe), then anyone who owns a house will hope that they didnt. Florida is definitely good, as is Arizona. Thats all I know for sure.

Are jobs within the real estate sector readily available and well paid in the US? I know you need a licence, am just looking into whether my qualifications will cover the requirements

to be honest with you-you might be over qualified...I've dated some real dumb bitches that do it and they are basically just bullshit artist-"there's no bullshit about me easing in the full slab of meat, now take it like a good little whore." Max Hardcore :satan:

Ain't that the truth bro. I live in cali as well and the prices are rediculous. I just don't know how people can afford to buy these days without going broke. Sure, you got a nice house in a good neighborhood, but what do you have inside it. lol. Top Ramon and Milk crates for furniture. haha. :D

The market is good in several areas....the problem is that the economy here is slowly reducing and eliminating the "middle class". Soon enough people will either be considered poor or wealthy as a result. Consider that before coming over as well.

The economy is like that everywhere bro. The middle class will soon be poor. There will be 3 new categories....wealthy, poor and really poor.
