plasma flat screen or lcd flat screen?

my dad just bought the new sony 60 inch projection its be best picture on the market without going over like 8 thousand now but i would say either ive heard about the plasmas but the guy at circuit city told us that they have changed and are better now and last like 10 years if you were to leave it on all ten years so by then your prob gonna be upgrading anyways. and your also not gonna leave it on that long lol so i would say witch ever fits you better or has the best picture bro.

I'd be glad having either one if I had the money. When I really think about it, however, I would get the lcd because it lasts longer. I'd use mine to display art when I'm not using it as a TV so it would be prone to burn if it were plasma.
thats exactly what im doing t, a slide show when its not on, my wife an i make/have artistic nudes of ourself in black and white that will run as slide shows, i cant wait, but now im leaning towards the ambient flat panel, it has lights on the sides illuminate the wall on each side, im just not sure how to run the power cords, i was going to run the power cords inside the wall and down and out the bottom of our molding by the outlet, anyone know of any ways to run the cables so u cant see them, thats all i can think of
