A Penny for a FBB's Thoughts..

I am taking the time to post some more personal thoughts regarding anabolics and how us women are affected by the introduction of such foreign substances into our system. What leads some women into taking this rather big leap into such an unknown realm knowing little to nothing about the consequences of unsafe, careless and uniformed drug use.

"This is a man's world"...indeed it is! But this is one place a man's advice cannot be put to the test at our expense as there is so much at stake and a hell of alot to lose. We are quite lucky, ladies ..and gents, to have such a competent, well informed staff of very knowledgable people who will never steer you wrong. Read...Read and read some more. No matter how much you think you know, you NEVER know enough..hardly ever enough considering that the slightest mistake can be quite costly. This is one road that you must tread with the utmost precaution.

What do most women seek ? Most desire that lean, toned, runway model, svelt physique that is portrayed on the cover of every magazine. The media has infiltrated our minds and given us false perceptions of what beauty is. The standards for physical beauty have changed dramatcially throughout the ages, from the voluptuous, thick physique that is symbolic of motherhood and fertility, to the slender, anorexic look that is sought by women in the early stages of adulthood, resulting in the rise of eating disorders in teenage girls. Let us not forget the influence cultural diversity has on us young females as well, especially in the United States where we are exposed to a variety of different views and perceptions that contribute a great deal to the development of our psyche. Only when we break the chains that bind us to a set of false ideologies, will we truely know freedom and love of self. "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" will hold true under such circumstances. But today's fast paced ever changing and evolving world makes it virtually impossible to enjoy and appreciate our individuality.

Let's face it. The possibilities are endless when you put your heart and soul into the things you love. Perseverance!Consistency!Passion!
Bodybuilding is a lifestyle and not a hobby. Its a fulltime commitment.

But sadly enough alot of women resort to anabolics for the wrong reasons. We get into relationships where the men we are involved with offer advice based on what knowledge they have of what worked for them. Its starts out with a desire to lose that extra little bit of belly fat, or add a mile or two to our jog, or even rid ourselves of early signs of aging. That is our biggest downfall: Taking advice from others without taking the time to research for ourselves. Anabolics are not a short cut to attaining that svelt, lean physique we want. Thyroid meds are not drugs we can mess around with based on a friend's advice because we are too lazy to bump up that cardio, and testosterone sure as hell isn't the answer to "boosting your stamina" or helping in adding a few extra pounds of muscle. Ladies, what worked for a man, does NOT in any way shape or form work for us. That is where we go wrong: taking advice and jeopardizing our health and the well being of our bodies based on trust. Trust no one but yourselves in dedicating a little time to read and research and ask questions. There are no stupid questions. But taking such risks without researching first is indeed stupid. The staff is here to assist everyone in their endeavors.

We all have to start somewhere, and i strongly advise all women to reach their full potential naturally before taking such a leap if you are not competing. Considering that the older we get, the less estrogen our bodies produce, the easier it will be for a woman to achieve certain goals. Our biggest hindrance is our entire constitution! All the more reason for us to take those precautions and weigh and consider our options. Diet is everything in attaining any goal. I am a firm believer in the fact that most of the work is done outside the gym.
It takes a tremendous amount of dicipline to follow such a structured way of life. It is not only very time consuming but costly as well. Taking the time to disciplining ourselves to where we can adjust our lives accordingly takes patience and sacrafice. Sacrafice is big in the world of a bodybuilder.

We sacrafice the things that others find enjoyable. Dieting, training and much needed sleep, are essential factors for growth. You will find it hard to keep friends that do not share your passions. But too much of anything is not a good thing, and so time teaches you to balance things to where you do not evolve into this eating-sleeping-damn-boring-as hell machine. Balance is key to success. Afterall, we are only human and falling off the wagon is just part of life and you learn how to manage your time and enjoy a sinful meal or night out every now and then. Time off is much needed and well deserved.

So enjoy the sport. Anabolics can work wonders for a physique only when the timing is right and you are confident about the fruit of your efforts. Now i have spent the better part of my earleir years doing my own research. A personal approach takes the formality out of this experience, where we all come together with a common interest for a common cause, and so i thought i would share these thoughts.

Cardio is sacred and though its a *itch, it works wonders in sculpting your body. All it takes is dedication. Do not make a chore out of it. And no, winstrol, anavar and T3 are not the answer. Cardio, cardio and more of it. Considering i started out as a marathon runner, i can understand the toll it takes on the knees and legs which is why there are so many types of cardiovascular workouts that will take the misery out of it. Switch your cardio every couple of weeks or so as the body is an amazing machine and will adapt to anything and everything and consequently..the dreaded plateau!

Since my last show, I have been on a bulk where i have had to make several adjustments to my diet on several occasions. Competiton is fierce and the road to the IFBB is rough. Women's bodybuilding is a dying sport and the only chance of a resurrection would be some serious change. But its people like the savvy individuals on this board, that keep me motivated and in the right frame of mind by constantly reigniting that burning desire to learn and succeed that i had when i joined the competitive arena. I have had some great teachers and am very happy to be a part of this staff to help in your endeavors.
