there is so much info from members on this board, i was just curious as to how many people worked in the fitness world or for who is this a " second job " or hobby ?

dont work in the fittness world but been doing this for over 30 years. Wouldn't
call it a hobby or 2nd job - just my lifestyle.

im going to school junior this year for a kinesiology exercise fitness management degree. Right now im studying for my issa and gonna get the ace cert. for personal training while im at it. So i can stop my manual labor and get an easier stand around jjob so i can train harder. The others are right more of a lifestyle though. my days consist of school MC couple other boards i frequent and the gym then sleep lol.

it's a lifestyle for me...and the thing is I just realized this a few months ago. I had been out of it for awhile, ya know work out for a couple of weeks and then I would get busy, or get hurt a little, or get some other reason not to go to the gym so I wouldn't. I finally realized if I was ever going to get where I wanted to be I had to make a conscious decision to train regardless of how tired I was, the kind of day I had, the minor injuries or pain I might feel, and the kind of time I thought I didn't have. Since that choice it has been gravy for me. So for those who really are going to see the gains they are wanting it has to be a lifestyle and not just hobby.

good answer spiderman same for me i made the choice about a year ago but then i tore my bicep haha seemed like it may just not be my sport haha. But i took the time off and all that good stuff and im back in it hard as ever strength is coming back quickly and im starting to shed some of the fat i put on over my time off. This year is going to be great im gonna be 100%dedicated to this lifestyle and see where i end up by next march.

also hey spiderman if you want you can shoot me a pm with your answer just curious where you work out. I know most of the gyms around here i was just curious.

I currently go to school for a degree related to health and I currently hold a ISSA certification for CFT(Certified Fitness Trainer)

It's a lifestyle also for me as well! Taking Masters for Business Adm. in the healthcare not really the same field but can branch of into it. Would love to get a job with a suppliment company or write for one of the bigger Muscle Mags...........that would be one of the dream jobs.

I was a trainer years and years ago but my Dad got me into lifting, boxing and fitness when i was about 12 years old so this has been part of my life for many years. I also went on to lead a Marathon training program and Coach running for a very big running shoe company. My real job on the other hand is in Advertising and I just so happen to be working in pharmacautical advertising right now which is pretty cool but not fitness related enough
