sorry let me clarify, yes I've used one and no I don't think they're worth it. You can get a decent workout in but I'm a firm believer in good old fashion steel free weights.

I agree with mike...you can get a good workout in, but it will not compare, long term, to the use of weights.

I hate BowFlex what a total piece of shit.

However, it may be a good option for women wanting to maintain a slim and firm figure

I don't like them. I believe they can cause injury due to the jerkiness of the contracting/pulling forces. I think that's one of their selling points. lol.

LOL. I think they should put that in their ads!

Worth it if your looking for basic fitness. Not worth it if your looking to build the mass of a bodybuilder.

Nothing compares to good ole free weights.

check the want ads - there used to be tons of them for resale. That should tell
you something. The muscle guy who advertises for them - I guarentee he didn't
build that body w/boflex. I think its only use would be for toning or keeping tone.
If you can get a used one for CHEAP it might be cool to supplement your gym
workouts. I wouldn't use for myself though.

They are decent for just light training/toning. If you want to get big, you have to hit the free weights!!

I had a buddy who owned a bowflex. He never got any bigger, but we all know it's not just about your training. I'm sure you could make decent progress with a good diet and intensity, but nothing beats heavy ass free weights.

yah they suck , my cousin has one in his basement and like I went over there to mess around with it , I could bench all the weight pretty much all day , its like working out with rubberbands , the weight doesnt really kick in till at the top of the movement so all the strain goes straight to the triceps no matter what , and pretty much every exercise you can use all the weight cause it always kicks in at the very top of the movement , Curl , chest flys , tricep kickbacks , everything with all the weight.

Only upside I can think of is its a pretty good cardio workout , the weight sucks but gets you breathing after a short bit.

good post bro
