Kidney Disease- Nephrotic Syndrome- Igf- Information Needed

My wife has Nephrotic Syndrome, specifically Focal Segmental Glomuler Sclerosis.

I'm searching the web for information about whether supplemental Igf would help her condition.

Any sites, leads, or information would be greatly appreciated!

Viking, what kind of treatments has she tried so far? Any prednisone, rituximab, etc... Also what is the situation? Is she a candidate for a kidney transplant, etc... If you want to take this to a PM I understand.

Wife and Nephrotic Syndrome

Aloha,

My wife's Nephrotic Syndrome is from her autoimmune system attacking her kidneys. Her nephroligist has had her on various diffedrent autoimmune suppresant drugs; prednisone (almost killed her), cyclosporine (didn't work), and a few other drugs. Duration of each drug was 6 months. She uses a diuretic daily, blood pressure medicine, she does a shot of procrit weekly, and her cholesterol is through the roof- 400, and they want to put her on medication for that as well.

She has tried some alternative modalities, with no lasting positive results. She is using some supplements that help off set the side affects of the drugs. She eats very little salt, low protein, and overall eats really healthy (organic).


Professionally, we have been in the health and fitness field for over 30 years. So we keep doing research for her condition, and my Hep-C. How ironic is our situation, two very healthy and fit people faced with two daunting personal issues.

Anyway MC brothers and sisters, if you are aware of any studies of the use of Igf and HGH with Nephrotic Syndrome, please let me know. I keep searching, but I am only one person.
