when you log off from a site.... and it says it clears all cookies. Does that mean there is no record of you being at that site? -ever?

just wondering what kind of foot print im leaving on the web...

i surf using Safari and I do two things, I clear my History when I'm done and I also empty the cache everynight before I go home. Sometimes I do it before going to lunch if I'm going to leave my laptop on at my desk. The other thing I do if there's going to be people in and out of my office is I select "private browsing" from the file menu. This doesn't record anything of your history on your computer

speaking of which, if you chose Private Browsing it doesn't even record your Google Searches and it won't Autofill so if you had previously typed in "anabolic steroids" into Google and now someone else is using your computer and wants to do a search on something that starts with the letters a and n it won't automatically fill in the rest... ;)

I'm on a Mac so for me it's under the name of the app. If you click and hold on Safari and the pulldown menu appears then "Private Browsing" is one of the options. It would be along with things like Block Pop-Up menu's or where your Preferences for the program would be.
