It depends on her. If you go shoping and she likes something I always file it mentally
and get it later. They are impressed you even pay attention. Taking time to pick
out some clothes for her is usually impressive - even if she takes everything back
they are usually impressed that you took the time and tried rather then doing
something like giving her some $$ and saying buy yourself something. I ALWAYS
have fun flirting with the salesgirls.
