How many of you guys get this often??? I am not getting it as often as i used to, but when it comes it bends me over. I swear, I am thinking about getting on some PPI's like Aciphex or something for it. I took some Tums about 20 minutes after it started today and no help...anyone else experience this.

i used to have really bad acid reflux adn took nexium for a number of years then when i ran out of insurance i didnt feel like paying 80$ or so a month on top of other meds so i now take prilosec otc its cheap and effective but not nearly as effective as nexuim, i have changed my diet and it has helped alot as well
ps if you stop sucking all that penis it may help as well, your welcome

I've had peptic ulcer disease for quite sometime now and that used to give me unbelievable heartburn. My doctor put me on Previcid before you could buy it over the counter. That seemed to work great for me. I stopped taking it a couple of years ago and havn't had bad heatburn in quite sometime. Diet is very important when it comes to Stomach/gastrointestinal problems.Spicy foods, certain dies in food and certain acids,Vitamin c being the worst can cause heartburn. Plus stress can be a determining factor as well.Try Previcid of Nexium,I was taking Previcid and it worked for me pretty good. If you have recurring heartburn more than 2-3 times a week then I would go see a doctor because it could be something more than just heartburn,You could have an ulcer or some gastrointestinal problem.

Been on Nexium for about 5-6 years now. I had acid reflux, which became 10 times worse, after I developed a hiatal hernia from lifting. The GI doc told me this was common among weightlifters. Another ailment I'll have with me the rest of my life from this God forsaken sport.

I have GERD bad. I had ulcers years ago. I also have barrett's esophagus and hiatal hernia from it. My stomach is trying to push back through my esophagus. I started nexium about 5 years ago and never have symptoms unless I forget to take it.

Dude.... your're not F'ing kidding. I've tried to go off Nexium several times, and I feel like I am going to die each time. I don't like the idea of being on a script for the rest of my life, but that's the way it looks at this point. Did the Nexium heal your Barrett's? As I understand, that is a pre- cancerous condition caused by all the acid exposure in the esophagus.

Ya, it is pre cancerous, but it really can not heal up once it is there. I have to go get an upper GI every year to make sure. They used to think it was going to turn into cancer no matter what, but over the last few years my doc said they have found out it does not turn into cancer as much as they first thought.

Also, if you really do not want to be on meds forever they have a surgery to fix it. I have been thinking about it. My stomach is herniating into my esophagus so it would help me a lot. They take a small piece of your stomach and sew it around the bottom of your esophagus. My doc has told me it is not as bad as it sounds.

i know i had some supps in peg, and i got reflux within 3 days of using it. i cured it twice by drinking cider vinegar 3-4 x daily, like a shot.

Yep, I get heartburn periodically as well. The only thing short of popping a pill that seems to work for me is to take a dose of Mylanta (for acid AND gas, not just for acid). Works quite well.
