Gas Prices

Tell me about it bro. I live in Cali where they tax us like 60 cents a gallon. lol. I've seen it at 3.99 a gallon around here too. Cheap gas is about 3.79 a gallon. Towards San Fran it's probably above 4 bucks now. Gas has literally crippled my finances. In the last 2 years my traveling expenses have quadrupled. Partially due to me moving a little farther out and mostly to do with expensive gas. This is hurting so many working class families. They think the housing market is the only killer these days. Nope. gas/energy is going to be the other one, because it reaches into everything: food, mail, travel, utilities, etc.

Its ridiculus, someone should be able to do something about this...you would think that since the price of living is going up that your annual salary should go up as well.

We're at 3.44 a gallon up here. Nothin like droppin $60+ every trip to the gas station.

I just got a raise to what I should of been making 2 years ago. It took that long just to show the cost of living in northern California is well above the national average. lol. I got a 19% raise last week. I'm pretty stoked nonetheless but I wish I would have gotten it about 3 months ago. It would have saved me a lot of worry and troubled times these last few months. I work for one of the largest oil companies in the world and they are so cheap that they don't pay their employee's enough to be able to get to work everyday. lol.

I'm in IT so they probably don't give a shit about us guys even though the network I helped build and manage carries about 100 million dollars a day worth of transactions and traffic. The executives are the one's getting rich not us regular guys. Bastards...

My business runs on diesel, and its 4.49 a gallon. Makes me sick. Someone should can mr. prez

I live by Bigger, I have a diesel truck. Last week the diesel was $4.36 or something
like that a gallon. Didn't diesel used to be cheaper since it takes about six steps less
to make?? They are screwing us again!! Oh Yeah, it's a company truck and they
pay for gas - lol - I drive that mother EVERYWHERE!! Picking up my kids - on the
weekends and ANY errands I have. I use about $400 a month so thats what I'm
saving. Thinking about it I dont know how I'd have a xtra 400 for gas. My company
and boss are awsome and expect us to use the trucks for personal so its OK w/them.
One of the perks and at todays gas prices its a big one. Hey, I wonder if Nair
smuggled any gas/oil back???

mcgaret, You're right. I saw diesel for like 4.39 just a couple of days ago. It's crazy...diesel used to be about 5 to 10 cents per gallon cheaper than gas and it is less steps to make. Something is wrong with this picture.

With all this gas price crap going on, I am really surprised that the auto makers have hardly done anything about it. Sure there are a couple of new hybrids out there, but come on, they shouldn't even be making Hummers for normal consumers anymore let alone the Suburbans and other large SUVs. Brazil has been independent from oil usage for a while now. The U.S. could easily do the same, but they are dragging their feet. Why? Because some big oil tycoons will lose their money. Yeesh!

^ I know what you mean bro. It's shocking to me that they are still making these huge SUV's and high performance vehicles such as all the new dodge, chryslers, Chevy/GMC, etc. People are unloading those cars for cheap and the gas savers are going up in price. It's funny and sad at the same time that economy cars are going to be worth more to people than these big luxury vehicles.

Today in San Francisco gasoline prices were in between $4.17 to $4.47 a gallon. That's for regular 87 octane gas. The higher end ranges were for medium to high grade.
