As some of you know my wife and I bought a baby daschound (hotdog) december 23rd of 2006, he was not even 2 years old yet, and was run over by a Tractor Trailer 2 nights ago and killed instantly. My wife is a mess and I mean a messssss as am I but she is REAL BAD off considering we dont have kids and our dog was like a child to her and I.

My question is does anyone on here know where to find a Daschound breeder, I need to buy a new puppy fast as possible to help fill the void.

For all dog lovers out there you know how it is or would be losing your DOG, but my wife was right there 10 feet from the road when she HEARD our dog get run over by this massive tractor trailer, and then she seen him laying there, so she is real real bad off and anyone who knows a daschound breeder please post it here or leave a link or pm me thank you

Sorry to hear that Presser. We have three dogs (one of them is my special girl) and I know I'd be devastated if something happened to her. I'll have Sindre contact you later. She's my fiance and also a vet tech.

thank you, were off to our vet now to see if we can find a new breeder

Try Petfinder.com. We're in Minnesota and also have a dachshund, we'll get you the name and contact info for the breeder that sold us ours.

fuck me man... Im really sorry to hear that press.

damn... why cant our poodle get ran over? its the good ones that get it first i swear!!

i hate our poodle.

Sorry to hear that bro, thats terrible. And even worse the wife had to hear/see it. Hope everything gets better man

I am so very sorry to hear this. As as animal lover esp horses and dogs my heart goes out to you and your wife. I lost a rottie to cancer at age 13 (he died in my arms) and I don't care what anyone says I felt as if I lost a child. God Bless and I pray for you to find a new "kid" when the time is right.:nope:

damn sorry to hear that brudda, i couldnt imagine losing my baby boy, he is only 3 gonna be 4 in oct (and that pisses my girl off because i can remember his exact bday but forget hers all the time) and he is def like my kid..bastard is 140 plus #'s though

I am sorry to hear this.
I had to put both of my dogs down two years ago within a few weeks and it was the hardest thing at the time that I had gone through.

That's horrible bro. I'm very sorry to hear that. It truly is (almost) like losing a child. I have many friends who have spent over ten thousand dollars trying to save their dogs from cancer and other illnesses. I'm sure it's a terrible thing especially when you witness it first hand.

Hi, Presser. I am Azmodeus' fiancee. He told you that I would be contacting you on here later. So, here I am. Like he said, I am a vet tech and have extensive knowledge about dogs. I love dogs. They are the best friends a person could ever have. I don't know what I would do if any one of our little friends were to die. I know the day will come one day, but I certainly don't want it to.

I am going to call the people who we bought our dachshund from and ask them if it is okay if we give their number out. I will also find out if they are still breeding. I have seen both parents and they are very healthy and sound animals with perfect temperaments. Our little Sansa is so cute and totally bonded to our daughter. I had a little yorkie once name Dick. He was my best friend in the whole world and one day he got away from me and was run over by a car. He died instantly. I had other shit going on at the time and that just crushed me.

In my professional opinion, if you are going to get another dog, make SURE that you see both parents and spend some time with them to insure that they don't have any behavior or congenital problems. Don't buy from a pet store, ever. You just have no idea what you are getting or what you might be supporting. 9 times out of 10 the puppies you see in the pet store come from "puppy mills" where the females are bred to death. When we give them our money, we only facilitate the problem.

Does your wife post on here? If so, would she mind talking with me? Perhaps I am being too forward. If that is the case, tell me to bugger off. I hope to help you as much as possible. I know what it is to lose an animal family member. Grief is normal and should be embraced. You have just lost a beloved family member. Allow yourself to go through those phases of grief in order to heal.

It is like losing a child. I lost a set of twins and it hurt just as much to lose my dog. We become so attached to our animal friends and they just don't live long enough. Like everything, though, time heals all wounds.

Great News

We finaly were able to get into touch with our last dogs breeder, she had One male daschound left and ready to go, he is 8 weeks old and a mini black and tan daschound which is Identicle to the poor fella we just lost, he also was a black and tan mini daschound with the best personality in the world, he was my best friend man and I keep thinking this cant be real and waiting for him to run down our stairs and jump im my lap and gimme his belly so i can rub it,lol, GOD I miss our dog!!!!!!

Thank you soo soo soo much for everyones kind words and advice as well as the private messages sent to help contact or find a new dog breeder. You guys and gals and this site in general kicks ass!

We pick up our new 8 week old black and tan mini daschound Friday from our last dogs breeder. The lady who breeds these dogs is the best, she rememebred who we were and my wife told her what happened and she knocked off $150 for our new baby!

It will not replace our last doggy but it will help fill the void and help us remeber our old doggy.

Our last daschound I bought on my birthday and my wife let me name him , so I named him "Vincent" after "Vince Young" of the Tennessee Titans , we were going to buy our last dog a partner this summer and name him "Van-go" so were staying with that name for our new dog "Van-go" so we would have had a "Vincent" and a "Van-go".

"SINDRE FEEL FREE TO SEND A PRIVATE MESSAGE TO MY WIFE, SHE WOULD LOVE IT IM SURE HER MEMBER NAME IS "SPANISHFLY"
