Interesting title, I thought. Anyhow, yesterday (Father's day) I went to lunch with my wife and 3 little ones. We went to eat at a Japanese Steakhouse for the 1st time in Knoxville. Well, we waited for 1.25 hours to be seated which sucked, but we played outside with the kids so it was alright. Then after repeatedly asking for a high-chair for the baby, 20 months old, we didn't get one. They seated us at the grill, which had no food on it and no chef there to prepare anything. Then we ordered drinks and they brought them to us, apparently the waitress knows what parts of the grill were cool and which ones were hot b/c she set the drinks on the grill instead of handing them to us directly.
Well, about 1 minute after this, after another high-chair request, my littlest girl stood up in her chair when my wife wasn't looking and fell forward catching herself on the grill with her right hand. She didn't get burned as bad as she could've b/c my wife heard someone gasp and turned to see her just as she touched the grill. She jerked her up, but my daughter has 2nd degree burns on her right palm.
The manager was rude when I told him what happened and asked why he didn't get us a high-chair and why there were no signs telling us the grill was hot. He said they were busy. That's it. What a POS
I got a call from their insurance company last night and this guy was much nicer. He says they will pay her hospital bills. I want them to put signs up telling people the grills are always on, even when no one is there and possibly not seat anyone under the age of 3 at the table without a high-chair as the grill is close enough for a 20 month old to reach out and touch.
Just wanted to rant to someone...
