Anyone see the Silva fight?

I didn't get to watch so I checked all the results and read that Cote looked really good and had to stop because of a blown knee. I was just seeing if that was the ufc beefing things up or if Cote is actually that much better than he used to be. Let me know mma junkies.

i watched it by then i was severely intoxicated though lol. Cote fought pretty good silva was winning the fight it wasnt another silva domination by any means. Cote has one hell of a chin ill say that much. Then his knee went out and he had to stop because he fell to the ground. They said it was his acl and you could see something being torn but it was down about 3 inches past his knee and to the right side i dont think the acl goes down that far so i think it was something else. sucks though.

honestly i think the entire fight was a joke. . . silva was dancing around like he was Ali or something, it looked like he was more interested in dancing and trying to play up the croud than putting a beating on someone! Maybe he was told not to hurt Cote, or maybe they wanted the fight to go the distance for ratings whatever it was Silva was playing games! I was reading an article on yahoo which I agree with if Silva has no competition in his class he should move up and actually fight someone who will give him a workout not dance around like a ballerina!

My brother said he got the impression he was playing with him. He also said that he thinks he was just trying to keep his striking percentage up too. Efficiency in a way I guess. I really think he will go up to 205 and I (some will disagree) think he can take it as well. I would like to see gsp go up to 85 and fight him. That would be interesting.

Yeah Silva was definitely dancing around, but I think he was just messing with Cote after all the pre-fight shit. Then again, when he saw openings, he took advantage of them and really fucked Cote up. As far as Silva moving up to 205 to fight other people... he did, and it lasted a whole minute or so. However, Silva has no interest in fighting for the title in that class, because his good friend Machida is on his way to a title fight there. Silva has already talked about retiring after his contract is up as well. He did state that he would fight any 205 fighter that the fans want (accept Machida ofcourse). I wouldn't go as far as saying the fight was set up to turn out a certain way. This definitely isn't Elite XC.
