Do one arm pushups work more muscles than normal 2 handed pushups. In a sense of actual muscles not just stabilizers.

Because I know that of course it works more stabilizers , but also how many stabilizer muscles does it recruit?

Mainly just wanting to know for information and knowledge purposes never know what burnout exercises I might incorporate into my pre bootcamp training , and on base workouts after boot.

I wouldn't think they'd work more muscles necessarily, just work your stabilizers harder. You will still be using the same muscles to push your body up as you would doing 2 arm push-ups, but you will be concentrating on one side more solely. Only thing I can think of to compare it to is using dumbbells to bench with instead of a straight bar. However, this isn't a great comparison as you don't use only 1 dumbbell at a time.

Regardless - I think you will get stronger overall if you do the one-armed pushups, but make sure you do them with both sides. And make sure you do plenty of 2 armed push-ups as well b/c that is what you'll be doing in camp. Always best to make sure you are smoking at what they need you to be good at.

You will definitely use your stabilizer more with one armed, but I don't know how much more. I'm sorry I can't be more help

No problem , I was just wondering if the lats would get slightly involved when doing one arm since your switching leverage of your body , your changing the angle some.

But yah I agree about sticking to 2 handed also.

What I have been trying to decide is im getting into olympic ring / blaster strap exercises somewhat. I want to try them out.

I can incorporate all the exercises I do in military training , using rings or the blaster strap , which is basically a rotating handle instead of ring so its a flat grip instead of round.
