Countdown to spring GOBBLER!

Only a few weeks until spring gobbler opens.      

I am a ferocious hunter!  Occasionally I will stalk my prey along well worn paths in my local supermarket.  I will creep carefully up to the freezer case, put my back to it, and get out my turkey call whistle.  A couple of calls, and some rattling of deer antlers I hook on my belt, and all is calm - for the moment.

Then without warning, I leap high into the air (at least 7inches) and jump into the frozen turkey pile.  I swear I grab one so fast it never has time to react.

The only drag to my expeditions is after the hunt, when I'm tediously removing the 'Tombstone Pizza' boxes from my camo clothing.
 
I used to follow the catch and release philosophy, but after the third turkey thawed and spoiled on my lawn - I decided to just eat them.

Kickin Chicken season starts this upcoming weekend for me.    Im gonna try it out for the first time this year. Ive always been more of deer and duck hunter more than anything.  Now that ive started juice the 200lbs of deer meat has came in handy now more than ever.

Just saw a show about WTF releasing 209 birds at one time in Nev. that was alot of bird. it was really cool watching it..

Auri, I think you need to tighten a few screws bro, lol. I bowhunt, but haven't for a couple years because of my back injury. This year I will be to busy with training, shows, school and my new job and just won't have the time. Next year I am going though, and nothing is going to stop me. I only hunt deer and elk. We don't have Turkey around here. Later

An elk isn't quite the size of a moose, but pretty close. And yes I do hunt for them with a bow. I have also hunted Bear with a bow, lol. later

bear hunting with a bow is just plain CRAZY IMO!  I read a story in American Hunter about a guy who just barely stopped a charging grizzly with an arrow....no FUCKING way!  sorry, I like to HUNT, not BE EATEN because I wasn't fast enough.  I guess you can screw up with a firearm too, but at least you have a few more yards to your advantage.
