last nights messing around

So yesterday I was suppose to do my ring workout , we ended up going to the gym , got in free since it was only open another hour. No membership just visitors which is normally 8 dollars a visit if you dont have a membership.

So what was on the agenda was handstand pushups , incline pushups , normal pushups which are decline since only flat pushups are planche pushups. shrugs , and dips. Which were suppose to be all ring exercises.

So since went to the gym , just did a warmup on traps with shrugs , stretched out the triceps moved onto a bench maxout.

I havent worked freeweights in probably anywhere from 1-2 months , the benchpress on graduation was 280 , last max which was last time I touched free weights was 240 or 235 one of those.

Which I to the point of the story havent been dedicated to my routine since been out with people alot , but so I came and benchpressed last night and got 235 with no rests inbetween sets of 135 for 5 , 185 for 1 , 205 for 1 , 225 for 1 , 235 max.

took a short rest , and went and carried 3 45lb plates up to the top floor of the gym which is 3 flights of stairs since that is where the only dip platforms and only place where dips is possible , bodyweight 10 reps , 1 plate 3 reps , 2 plates 1 rep , 3 plates 1 rep , 3 plates + a 10 for 3 reps.

For a maxout on dips with 145lbs + BW of around 150-155 for 3 reps.

Today I have a good feeling in middle of my chest from the benching , and I credit the increase to the dips to the rings.

So I know maxouts every week puts alot of stress on nervous system and very likely to plateau and overtrain. Well wanting to bounce thoughts off of you guys..... If I do my current ring workout for endurance and stabilizer muscles every night on workout days with nothing but a maxout and light cardio on days that I do the maxouts in the day / morning.

Would you think that would be too much of a nervous system beating? Example.
-----------------------------
Monday

morning - bench maxout

night- handstand pushups , ring incline pushups , ring decline pushups , ring dips , ring shrugs.
------------------------------------
and then my wednesday and friday workouts are the same way with different muscle groups , like squat and deadlift maxes , and the assistant exercises to failure for stabilizers.

as long as I get alot of rest and high protein intake what do you think would happen? basically its a on workout days 1 compound max , followed by 1 set failure for stabilizers so its strength followed by endurance and without a maxout not followed by a workout really would it still equal to overtraining if done weekly.

I think if you max out on bench you should be done for the day. That with the dips and what not is good. You should take 4 days off after a chest routine. What if any gear are you on? Whats your goals for mass? are you trying to stay lean?

hes not on gear norm hes 18 i think just signed up for the marines.

I agree if you do a full maxout on chest call it a day for that muscle, unless you just work it non directly, i wouldnt max on chest weekly though.

say on monday I do that workout , those exercises arent touched again till the following monday. So that 7 days of recovery.

maxout , with rest and food intakes till later that night with upper body burnout. loads of stress with long time recovery.

I knew the weekly maxout was something that has always been a rule to not do , I was just wondering if it was under certain circumstances that like if you didnt workout just maxed out weekly on set days. If your body not get benefits and not be overtraining from the induced stress back to back.

But I dont really have a way to be able to max weekly anyways , was knowledge over action for the most part.

Thanks guys , im sticking to the running 2x a week unless something comes up that keeps me from running , I try to put it on another day. But soon I will maybe bring it up to running 3x a day , then a little while after 4x a day and 5x a day. I dont want to do 7x a day running ill wait for bootcamp for that.

I dont think anyone can max out once a week. Maybe for a couple weeks, but 4 in a row, and your going to start injuring something.

Id get through the basic training before you really want to put any size on anyway.

Try to stick to the exercises that are going to be in the pt. Sounds like thats what your doing. You want to kick some ass in pt and get noticed.

ive threw out the maxout weekly idea already , but was just hoping that it would still be possible since the only way for me to actually do a flat bench is if I could do planche pushups..... and i dont feel like adding that in right now.
