Lift comparisons.

I am kind of experimenting with upright rows , I am feeling like stopping doing shrugs for a while and replace them with upright rows.

I came upon a behind the back variation of the upright rows.

I tried them out a few reps with the bar , also did a short recording from the back just to get a feel and visual of the movement along with the muscular involvement.

Now so using incorporated in my workout , either upright row or behind the back upright row , I am going to compare the two myself. Try to decide which I want to use.

But am interested in the opinions of the behind the back vs front upright rows. which do you feel is more compound , ect.

If lee haney himself does the exercises , I figure if the weight and exercise is done with correct form and caution its beneficial. Just wanting opinions from you guys between the two. I havent tried upright rows recently to compare the two but the behind the back full squeeze with barbell felt good to me. had an amazing feel in the upper shoulderblade area.

So I will continue my comparison for myself starting now , looking for various opinions.

From short 2-3 minute comparing , STILL OPEN FOR OPINIONS.

But have decided that I like the feel of the behind the back upright more than the front upright , due to the mechanical , atleast with barbell.. Dumbells maybe I would like the feel better , but with a barbell feels like my shoulders get more of a stress than stimulationm.

But while behind the back I feel no pain just stimulation.

So at this point thinking behind the back , with a shoulder width overhand grip. As progression in results come any lagging parts that I notice routine will be switched to accomodate for. But seems pretty solid base of a workout at the point.

I had thought that upright rows to the front were mostly for the delts. I quit doing those because it raised hell with my elbows.
I have been sometimes doing the behind the back shrugs for variation. I havent been bending my arms that much and going so high.
That looks better then the way I was doing them. (just using traps to shrug) Your way looks like a better squeeze at the top. I like
behind the back cus it concentrates on the traps but next time I'll try it higher (like the picture) and see how it goes.

I figured since back is one of the biggest neglected muscle areas from training , I would switch it up since its another variation that has been given huge amount of credit to , by one of the greats.

So figured I'd give it a try , and with just bar and a few reps using full range , strict form it feels really good.

So im going to try going light since im going for 100 reps and then increase weight like 50lbs total when I can do 100 reps , Since im training for endurance and cardio , but still give me a strength gain gradually after the initial endurance gain.

Follow my body avoid pains but embrace the burn I should be able to train safely and reach my goals , no jerking slow strict form.

Just figured I would try to get as much information from the guys who know more about training than I do , get their thoughts and opinions.
