Clay Guida vs Sancez was a good fight.

Sanchez beat the living crap out of him and he just kept coming. It was one of the better most action packed fights Ive seen in a while. Sanchez won via split decision but in my opinion he did win. Guida was a bloody, scary, hairy, caveman mess. LOL

He made the comment that "even a caveman could do it" after one of his fights. Seems like the obvious guy for a geico commercial to me.

Guida took ALOT of hits though (especially in the first several seconds!) and he was still standing at the end of 3 rounds, so I think that says something at least... I do think Diego is something fierce though and there's no doubt he takes the sport seriously.

It's hard not to laugh a little when he's walking out to his music with his nose all crinkled while chanting "YES! YES!"

Countdown to UFC 100 is ON! Less than three weeks!!!!

Hated fighters - diego , koscheck , both the diaz brothers , frank lester , and that demarques guy from ultimate fighter.

Im sure their are alot others.... But I think their are too many fighters that are overrated. Get handed easy fights. Etc.

I was hoping guida would win hands down , I cant stand diego. I found myself hoping he would cut his hair after the first round since I couldnt help but wonder if it was actually cause of him getting hit by ridiculous shots...

But I honestly think the UFC does have alot of unproven fighters. That stick around even after proving that they are not a top notch competitor. Im not saying diego , koscheck etc. arent good fighters.

I just dont like them , but they are still overrated to me. The UFC does have alot of great fighters too though , but I really dont like seeing people who suck getting airtime. If you have horrible jiujitsu and horrible stand up... How the hell are you getting on ultimate fighter show to prove yourself.

Yes you can be a good ground and pounder and make it in the UFC with below average standup and jiujitsu but your not going to go far. Ive seen kids around 12-15 in the boxing gym that had better standup skills than some fighters that have gotten the opportunity. Once your of age to actually be competent to pickup on things. How do the basics of boxing not get absorbed into you especially whenever you train so dedicatingly to MMA. Along with jiu jitsu. Ive only rolled with my dad who knows NO jiu jitsu , and one of my best friends just messing around. Along with maybe a total of 4 hours of youtube my entire life.

and I have seem some fighters with work jiu jitsu skills than me , also fighters with worse boxing skills than me and ive only trained a total of maybe 30 hours my whole life.

Im not saying im anywhere near good enough to be a MMA fighter , I dont have the dedication or drive to do so. But seeing below par fighters is disappointing.

Congratz to diego for the win though , even though I was hoping he would get beat.

one thing i have to say though , seeing nick diaz flex his biceps after I think round one of the joe steveson fight... he has to have alot of misguided self esteem , confidence, and arrogance to act the way he does.... and then still flex and not have his arms increase in circumference at all from flexing and still act that way. Is disturbing.

hehehe

Ive alway wanted to box ever since I was like 6 , Never had the opportunity till around beginning of 2009 , went for it trained a little and helped train the other fighters who needed help if I could.

Was on my way to golden gloves and spring lake tournament , was planned for me to go anyways , after about 2-3 months of training. But couldnt afford the equipment I needed so since then everythings been off I'll have to go after it another day.

I got sparring videos but coach has them. Ill eventually get my hands on them and make them DVD from VHS then get them up on the internet.

But enough about me. Im not saying I have what it takes to be an MMA fighter , especially with only short term training. but its horrible to see fighters who get air time , major opportunities and debut's without having the tools or skills they need. Boxing and MMA in my opinion regardless of anything is a knowledge game.... If you dont understand what you need to do and break everything down to adjust your fighting style and adjust training. You need to take a break and think do you really got what it takes knowledge wise to go along with the other aspects.

You can train for a week , you can train for a year , how you pickup on what you train is dependant on how good you understand.

But caveman all the way. I want to see him trim the air that comes down in front of his eyes. Work on his standup instead of just covering up keep the head moving. With his heart , and drive. I think he could move up in the sport. I remember seeing the first fight I ever saw with guida , he was nonstop on the offensive and working made me admire him.
