Nice man I haven't ever been bass fishing only saltwater, but im curious how well would you say the compare to a kingfish when it comes down to "fight". Body you can eat any fish even hardheads if your hungry enough.

largemouth are ok eaters if your used to that and sandbass etc. from here in the heart of the country. If your used to the wonderful seafood that some of you get on a daily basis on the coast then not really.
Looks like about a 3.5 pounder or so maybe a bit more good size bass specially off the bank. Did you catch all largemouth or some other species too?

4.5 and they are good if you bleed them and fillet them. I prefer crappie/ white perch but I just ate them and trust me they were good. I caught another today that was the same size. They have a better taste to me than catfish and like I said if you cut their fatty pad near the gill plates and let them bleed out while alive they taste a ton better. I don't know if sand bass and barfish are the same thing but they sound like it. I also think they fight well but any salt species like a redfish is hard to beat in my opinion. I was just fishing for bass off the bank at the state trophy lake by the way. 1/8 ounce shaky head jig in a watermelon, purple glitter finesse worm was the magic wand. I hadn't fished in a year and went last week with some buds and am hooked. LOL

That is my only regret, moving so far away from the coast. Im spoiled when it comes to fishing and eating seafood. Fishing is very addictive isn't it? :)
