Yeah and I HATE it. I hate it more than a tequila hang over--becasue that's just about as bad as what I end up with in the morning.

I have been on ambien and it didn't work for me at all no matter how much I took. Its funny you say that about melatonin. I took some this morning at 4 to go to sleep and woke up at 11:30. It works but I can't wake up. Xanax worked but who wants to get hooked on that to go to sleep. I can take nyquil two days in a row and it may work but on the 3rd day it has the adverse effect and wires me up. Benadryl does the same thing. I am an insomniac and am actually planning on seeing my doc next week.

To be honest, and i dont know how it works, but almonds or baking soda mixed with water helps me fall asleep. NOt sure what the science is behind it but it works.

Thats interesting to say the least. The only thing that always works is about 10 bud lights but Im not willing to go that route until Ive gone about a week without much sleep. Im curious to see what the doc says. Last time he gave me sonata and it gave me fibromyalgia. Well I say that but every joint in my body hurt and I felt like I had the flu until I didn't take it for two days.

I developed a tolerance too. Now I have ambien, trazadone, valium, xyrum, and that Kava tea from Hawaii and I alternate them. Either way I get bombed everynight before bed.

The most I ever took was 4 at a time... I was imagining some weird ass shit, but I was so out of it... I'd do anything for some ambien right now actually... though Nyquil tends to give me some crazy ass dreams as well. Too bad I have to drink half a bottle at a time to have any affect on me. I think it takes alot to knock me out completely (which means... shutting my mind OFF completely!) The hallucination/imagining on ambien was good because it got me to sleep in a situation where I otherwise wouldn't have... but I had a little hangover the following day, which I didn't appreciate...

Thats crazy i take 2 tylenol pm's or simply sleeps and i can fall asleep pretty easily in about 1.5 hours. I usually take them at about 9 and watch tv till about 1030 then hit the sack and im good. I cant imagine having this much trouble sleeping.

Ambien never worked well for me but then again I used to be prescribed xanax and klonopin so that probably raised my tolerance quite a bit. I no longer take any of them and most of the time don't have too much trouble going to sleep. Every once in a while though I wish I still had my scripts for one of those cause I'll toss and turn for several hours before falling asleep and then wake up very early. It sucks but what can you do?
