but the truth is sometimes it makes things look fake in movies especially. I was watching something the other day and it was in outer space and all the space vehicles just looked so fake. I have a high end samsung with 60k to 1 contrast which is nowhere near the new ones with 100000 contrast but its still very clear. I love my tv but it is kinda funny that in some ways it ruined the effect.

Yeah you lost me with all that number stuff bud. I bought a 50" panosnic plasma about a year and a half ago. It sits on my wall and the Chargers and Lakers come in great! That's about all I care about

Yeah I wish I could afford one of the new samsung especially the led one, but I still like my little 42inch, does the job.

it could quite possibly be the CGI that looks fake....i'm one who likes the original Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars when they used modedls and trick camera work for the space scenes instead of now it's all animated and looks cartoonish.....i will say however, that these new fancy tv's mess with my eyes though and i get dizzy after watching them and then have to refocus quick to run to the bathroom or something

i agree

i was watching halloween 1 (remake) on my friends 2k LG tv, and i could actually see the makeup applied to the actors faces

lol, complaints about hd being to HD lol, now thats funny! I have a 52' zenith and its plasma and ill never buy plasma again! i had a fucking pixel burn out already and the tv is fucking new! You cant see it,lol, but i can cause i know where it is located in the upper right hand corner of my tv and you can only tell when a certain color comes on the screen, but still i paid good money for this fucker and then this shit happened and i hate taking shit back, its a fucking hassle

That's probably cause it's a Zenith bro. I have a Panasonic plasma that I bought over two years ago and it still looks great. Pixel burn out is typically a problem with LCD's anyway. Plasmas are better panels for many reason IMHO. LCD's give very artifical pictures with oversaturated colors which sounds like the problem that JT was describing. That's why I asked if he had an LCD.

Yeah I love my plasma. Panasonic is top of the line.

Buying a Zenith is like buying a Gremlin

It is Lcd. The funny thing is makeup especially when my wife is watching american idol. Randy is freaking purple. My brother had a Zenith and it went out quick too Presser. The old plasmas had tons of problems but I have read that the new ones are much better. The refresh rate is way higher like 8-10 times usually too. The one I almost bought had a 600hz refresh rate and most 1080 lcd are 60 to 240. No artifacts left or ghosts. If you have an hdtv you know exactly what I mean. I love watching bball and fball on it though too Nair. It amazes me how you can see the bend in the turf and sweat beads on players. You can see the grain in golf greens too. The contrast ratio is just the intensity of the difference in the colors to put it in layman's terms.

Projection technology has advanced alot , I want one of the 80+ inch projections.... has resolution that can surpass LCD and plasmas.

and im not talking about the projectors , these house their projector inside of them , in a little thicker package than normal flatscreens.

Don't be fooled by snake oil advertising. It doesn't matter if the TV has a native resolution of something crazy because the content is still the same. If you buy a 100" TV with a resolution of 5000p, guess what, the best picture it's going to show is still going to be 1080p until they come out with something else.

I guess I chose bad wording.

I was more so meaning since it has no pixels... its resolution would be clearer vs ldc or plasmas.

Everything has pixels. That is how they measure resolution. Higher resolution (clearer picture) is just more pixels per square inch. Also, from a very basic definition, resolution is what determines how 'clear' a picture is. So aside from minor differences between inherent functionality of a plasma, LCD, LED, OLED, etc, and 1080p picture is going to look pretty much just as clear on one panel as it does the other.

I am, however, interested in what you are talking about. Do you have a link or something?
