I have the WORST Luck !! New Update.. Read.

Some of you may remember my Thread about ohhh 4.5 weeks ago about how my awesome-est Puppy (THOR) Broke both his rear legs (fibula's) .. and had to have surgery and all that..



Well... 9 days ago He was sleeping in bed with me and STUPID ME With ALL THE BAD LUCK THAT ENVELOPES ME.. Knew he was supposed to be on the floor, but he was lonely and whining in his Room (Yes My Dog has his own room, just like a child of mine would have in my house) .. so I brought him into Bed with me..

Well the Fool rolled in his sleep and fell off of the bed, he seemed fine.. didn't cry.. didn't wimper.. NOTHING.. He.. It woke me up immediately.. I jumped up.. and he seemed fine so I put him back in bed and went back to sleep.. for the next 9 days (Today being the 9th day...) he kinda nursed one of his legs.. (the leg he fell on) .. but he wasn't in a bad mood or anything.. still playful/happy/tail wagging/kisses giving PUPPY !! So I thought ehhh Soft tissue damage.. and SO DIDN'T HIS SURGEON .. Because 2 days after he had his spill he had a re-check appt on his surgery .. He was scheduled to come back a week later for RADIOGRAPHS (X-rays) and to have the Pins removed... So I asked them to examine Him.. and they did.. took 2 x-rays and said he was fine.. an HOUR goes by.. and I am like ok WTF is going on.. The Surgeon had a funny feeling something else was going on.. so she decided to Radiograph the whole Leg.. and that is where she discovered a Broken FEMUR !!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE SWEET FCK !!!

So as I write this to everyone MY DUDE is undergoing his second surgery in the past month and a half... This time.. More Pins, Plates, Screws... it was SHATTERED !! Another 2000 dollar bill... (oh well I don't care if it was flipping 20grand I would have paid it...) THEY GAVE ME THE OPTION OF PROCEEDING WITH THE SURGERY OR PUTTING HIM DOWN !!! Uhhh NO.. Save my DOG.. Don't KILL him.. *Yes, I know complications can arise during surgery and he could die.. but NO, I am not going to authorize the dismissal of my Dude's Life... NO WAY.. NO HOW !!*

But I mean SERIOUSLY... Why !? How !? How is it even POSSIBLE that someone have as shitty of luck as I do... (obviously the issues with my puppy aren't the only "BAD LUCK" Things happening in my life... just the most important and precious and vital...)

Anyways.. Just thought I would share with everyone.. I dunno.. Everyone here is kinda like my Family.. In a weird sort of internet relationship sorta way... Just SUCKS.. I won't know the outcome for another... Ohhh.. 3 hours from when I post this... I'll let all who are interested in knowing the outcome as soon as I know... Oh Oh ... Yah.. and they are keeping him for a WEEK.. 7 whole days... that upset me the most I think .. I hate not having my Dude around.. Man's Best Friend really is a true term...

So.. another 6 week journey of healing is ahead of ME.. Wish Us both Luck !!

Damn man thats terrible news sorry to hear. Hope the little guy pulls through good. Yeah man i cant believe vets even ask me shit like that either. Id sell my car to get my little man well. I had to take him to the puppy ER one time and they said do you wanna sign a DNR do not recessitate for your dog? i was like fuck no you better hope to god he doesnt need it and that you can bring him back if something did happen. Just irritated me if i didnt care about him and didnt think of him as family i wouldnt have spent 900 bucks in the ER for the little guy.

Holy crap thats messed up, bro. Here's to a quick recovery.

UPDATE !!

Thor's Surgery went great, they put him back together AGAIN. Poor Guy. Now.. Just 6 more weeks and he shall be GOOD as New... (should be good as new if I hadn't been an IDIOT and put him in bed with me.. ugh... hindsight is 20-20)

But I will be at the Surgery place at 9am tomorrow morning to spend some time with my once again BROKEN and CUT OPEN Dude !!

Geezum, He's now had as many cuts in the last 6 months on his body as i have in 28 years... Poor guy..

what about giving him calcium supp's or something to strengthen the bones??

awwwww AT LEAST HE'S OK! THANK GOD! I HAVE 2 DOGS MYSELF.. ONE OF THEM IS HALF PITTBULL HALF ROTTWEILER... and I volunteer for a humane society, and pitts are pretty much ALL WE GET... so I love them to pieces!

Hahaha UMMM.. This was the CHEAPER of the two surgeries.. the one 5 wks ago was 3300... this on capped it 2000.. so yah.. 5300 bucks give 'er take a hundred or 2

He walked off of the operating table actually bro.. (with a support sling of course) and he will continue to do so to strengthen his rear quarters...hes a tough lil bastard i shall give him that...

He'll be alright.. be some time but he will heal and still be the same ole thing he was before this stupid stuff started happening... he's a good boy though.. and a fighter .. and stubborn... *just like his Dad--- ME:laugh:*

Who could stand the look on his face on that fourth pic man, you know that little guy hurts. At least they took the cast on the other leg off. my heart would drop to see him in one of htose doggie wheelchairs. Speedy recovery!!!!

POOR BABY!!!! Aww, I wanna give him lots of hugs n kisses... TOO CUTE!! Damn, I can't believe he got hurt and needed surgery again. What a little badass though. Glad he is pulling through okay!

Yah he is PAIN, but they have him pretty regulated.. but.. if you look closely.. the tail.. well since it's a still picture you can't tell but it was going a MILE A MINUTE !! Lol.. so cute !! I love my lil man.. he's my dude!!

Yah they took the cast off of the other leg because the fracture is fully 100% healed... from day of injury to day of radiograph is 31 days.. now that's some speed recovery.. SO NOW.. That leg will receive therapy and get strengthened.. and the other leg is the one that will be immobile for like 10-12 weeks.. so he will be really weak in that leg due to the double surgery on it.. the fractures of the fibula and now the femur shattering and reconstruction ..it's like COME ON !!!

Aww thanks.. yah it's insane that he had to go through YET ANOTHER SURGERY.. I seriously don't know how much I can take.. I am gonna put him in a bubble when he gets home.. he's gonna be my bubble dog !! LOL

Damn man, that is somer rough luck. It sounds like he's got no quit in him though! I agree on some calcium supps.... if it were me even some EQ

Oh I think Calcium supplement is going to be a given.. isn't EQ a vet steroid.. even though I know it's HUMAN usage.. I wonder if the same applies inside an animals chemistry.. ok.. I gotta go look it up.. NO I would NEVER give my dog EQ.. but.. if it would benefit him I certainly could ask the vet.. but I think the whole thing behind EQUIPOISE is that it is meant for EQUESTRIANS (Horsies.. lol).. not doggies..

I got my Happy Dude back !! (well not technically .. he comes home tomorrow (the 25th !!)

I worked at the Animal Medical Center in NYC for a year, working with the doctors and interns. There were over 100 drs in areas of specialty the same as humans. Animal medicine is very similar to human medicine. Trust me, you are NOT surrounded by bad luck. Puppies are very prone to breaks, bruises, etc. I saw hundreds of puppies getting injured at my time there. I've also volunteered at rescue shelters and have seen it there. They always offer euth because some horrible people don't think animals have much worth so they don't want to pay. Fuckers. But you're doing everything right with your dog, he's going to be FINE, I promise. His youth is on his side. Back to normal in no time. I've seen it too often to lie to you.
