Fact or Fiction - Training legs

ive heard many people say that Training legs encourages the growth of the rest of your body.

Something to do with blood flow or release of hormones after training such a large muscle group.

yet i see so many guys in my gym with an upper body of an OX with legs of a chicken.. makes me wonder how much bigger would they b if they trained legs. (that is if the myth is actually fact)

Training legs is no fun... hence the reason why half-assers don't do it. It hurts. It sucks. It's hard. But it does make you grow.

I agree, leg day is the day I hate to love.....or is it love to hate. lol. Most of the people in the gym just want beach bodies or Abercrombie physiques. But I believe there have been studies that show elevated levels of endogenous test when intense leg training is part of a training routine.

its actually been proven that training legs wont make the rest of your body grow, the saying 'if you want big biceps, Squat!' or anything like that is just another form of broscience being passed around BBing forums.
it was beleived that training legs (specifically squatting) released more test/gh thus making the rest of the body grow, makes sense when you see guys with big legs have more developed upper bodies than guys that just have big upper bodies, but generally speaking somebody who trains legs is almost certain to train harder and smarter than the guy at the gym who just curls and bench presses.

Wait, so you guys are saying that contrary to what gets passed around that training legs hard doesn't have any effect of the amount of natural test your body produces?

I agree that someone who trains legs hard is likely to train the rest of the body harder than the average person, but is that really the only reason for more development?

I think that training legs... REALLY training legs, will help the rest of you grow, for the simple fact that you have to use stabilization, balance, and secondary muscles. Whether you're doing squats, lunges, stiff legged deads, or whatever, you're using more than just your legs.

whoops i meant to quote you haha. My bad let me fix that.

i told my chiropractor that heavy squats and heavy dead will stimulate the cns and he never heard that before. He didnt understand why people used such heavy weight.

I always believed that training legs stimulated the entire body. I've never seen a guy with an upper body that is my size that didn't have developed legs.

NATURAL test is a different story, but once your using exogenous test, the test that would be produced from training legs is insignificant, theres no magic button that gets pushed when you squat that tells your upper body to grow.. does anybody actually think that if they went to the gym and squatted without any form of upper body stimulation at all, that they'd have similar proportions as a person who trained upper and lower body?
i dunno when it started but whenever it did, it was intended on getting lazy people to train legs, 'hey man if you wat to be big you have to squat!'.

Yeah, I was talking about endogenous test. And it may not directly stimulate upper body growth, just saying that everything else being equal (genetics, diet, supps) if one guy trains legs and the other doesn't, the guy who trains legs will have a better upper body because of it (indirectly, of course).
