Protein in a pouch

Every so often, as a matter of convenience, I'll buy protein in a pouch. Lots of brands sell them, but I prefer bumble bee. Some of them taste too processed, salty and artificial for me, but there's a couple that I do enjoy. The problem is that while they're super convenient, low in calories and high in protein, they're also super high in sodium.

I don't like the preservative sauce it's prepared in and always dump it out and rinse the chicken/salmon/tuna/whatever before heating it up. How much do you think this really helps with reducing the bad stuff?

Those look good and super convenient. I'm not too worried about sodium so they would be great for me. I've never seen them before. Thank for the heads up. I would guess they are on the isle with the pouches of tuna?

You've never seen them??? :surprised Yeah, they're in that aisle... usually expensive though - can be up to $2.99 or $3.99 for ONE! But if they are on sale or I'm in the mood, I'll grab it. I never tried the buffalo chicken before but grabbed it last night. I really like the teriyaki salmon one!

I guess I just overlooked it. I am going to the grocery store later today so I will look for them.

Like I said, some flavors are good and some kinda suck so don't give up after trying only one!! :p

Of course it isn't as yummy as freshly made food, but it's great for on-the-go!

Yeah I have a bunch in my pantry, my desk, my bag, in case I need a god meal. I also like kippered snacks and smoked oysters that are in the little can cheap and convenient as well.

Damn, those look good. I'm going to have to see if we have those down here. So they are in the tuna isle?

No problem!

By the way, I finally had the BBQ chicken one last night on a salad (of course I drained the liquid and rinsed the hell out of it first) and it was pretty good!
I'll be sure to pick one of those up to try. Good looking out!

So thanks to Steph, I'm now addicted to these things. I normally eat like 2 a day. I just ate 2 of the Lemon-pepper chicken... good as a bastard!!

I haven't had that one yet, jon... just the bbq chicken and the lemon pepper chicken. The lemon pepper one is actually better tasting, for me.
