Brett Favre will reportedly not return to the Vikings

A source "with knowledge of the situation" has told the Associated Press that Brett Favre is retiring for his third time.
Favre, 40, will reportedly not return to the Minnesota Vikings for a second season because his hurt ankle is not rehabilitating as he had hoped. Favre injured his left ankle in the NFC championship game loss to the New Orleans Saints and had arthroscopic surgery in May.
Vikings fans, however, should not necessarily fret. Favre told the Vikings last year that he was retiring, but he ended up joining them at training camp.
Favre had an outstanding year in 2009, throwing for 4,202 yards with 33 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
