one muscle group per day

what do you think is better, hitting one muscle group a day and doing eight excersises, or four excersises with two muscle groups

I have to do two muscles a day or I would not be able to fit every muscle in a week.

I would have to say neither.  You are way overtraining if you are doing eight exercises for one body part per day.  I personally don't like doubling up on body parts per workout.  I started doing one body part per day with 4 exercises and I'm getting better results then I ever have.  Three sets for each exercises and going all out and leaving everything at the gym.

How do yall get all the body parts in a week if you only do 1 a day.  Are there certain things you dont workout or does it just take more than a week.

1. chest
2. back
3. traps
4. shoulders
5. biceps
6. triceps
7. quads
8. hams
9. calves (2 times a week)
10. abs (2 times a week)

i have to say i differ in opinion, i have tried many different training options, i have used one muscle per day once a week, i have done 2 muscles per training session, once a week, and although i did get reasonably good gains doing this, lately i have been using a completely different approach and believe it to be working even better, alot of people might think it is slightly over training, but if protein and calorie intake is kept high, then i don't believe it is.
I am using a 3 day split, training my whole body over 3 days,
2 day's on, 1 day off, one day on, i day off, this way you train each body part twice in 10 day's, instead of twice in 14 days.
i train Chest & back on day 1, Legs on day 2, shoulders and arms on day 3, with this routine i have seen great improvements in my body and strength.
Ju7st my opinion though.

I think it depends on the person. I have been dedicating one workout to back only. This was my weak point...it has grown a pretty fair amount. I used to do back with biceps..but now do a seperate chest day..back day....bi's/tri's...shoulders/traps.....legs...that is only 5 days so there are 2 left. I usually run at 4am and workout after work.
I would say that you should find your weak points and target them...nothing is better than making your body more proportionate to other parts..hence you have BBing!   :D

I´m working 2 muscles/day, but nothing is better than doing back & chest alone.....................faster training and better results!   <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://musclechemistry.mantisforums.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

...you have to combine some things...like i cant see how people would want to train chest, tris, and shoulders ALL seperate on their own day...your tris would be worked three times that week...how do they recover good enuf...i just believe you would have to combine two of those three together for one day...just my thoughts....  :(

If I'm doing a big muscle group like quads and hamstring, then 1 muscle group per day. If I'm doing smaller muscle groups like biceps and triceps, I'll do two muscle groups per day.
