I am one of 1500 teamsters that's most likely losing my job in February. Past 15 years ive worked for the distribution center that ships groceries, perishable, frozen, and health and beauty aids to A&P, Pathmark, Superfresh, and Walbaums supermarkets. Yesterday about 200 of us rolled up to A&P headquarters letting them know we want a contract extension and not to ship our jobs out of state to some non union outfit.

Im looking at it as it might be a blessing in disguise. I make almost as much as I do in a 40hr week at the union as I do in 13hrs doing in-home personal training. In a weird way I think getting laid off, getting an 8 week severance and collecting unemployment for 6 months to a year would give me a good amount of time to build up a good downline of clients and be able to make 3 times as much money. Its just those damn golden handcuffs holding me back

Most seemingly bad things are blessings in disguise. You just have to focus on the opportunity it presents and not the negatives.

I'm going through it as we speak. The union out here is weak.

I'm doing the same thing! Getting certified by NASM and working at a gym.

when one door closes, eventually a better one will open.
