My metabolism hit a wall... competing soon.. HELP!

Ok, so  I am competing in a week and a half... I had my carbs too low for too long and my metabolism came to a screeching halt... I don't know how to fix this.. I increased my carbs to try and fill out some more (becaues I started to look too flat), and after two days of higher carbs I filled out some and am feeling a little better...  but I still don't know how to get my metabolism up and running again.

I have been eating nothing but chicken and yams for the past five or six weeks, and I am afraid to enter any new foods this close to the show.  About a week ago, my body deflated... my vascularity disappeared and I began to look a little softer...  I am very very lean and could compete in the condition I am in, but want to be better.

I increased my t3 dose to 37.5mcg.. is 50mcg too high?  I have taken this much before, but was afraid I'd screw myself up, so it was only for a small chunk of time and am a little nervous about bringing it up again especially because I am looking to fill out at this point (but I still could lose a tiny bit more)...

If anyone has any ideas of maybe something I could take, or something I could do to change up my diet/ or whatever to get back on track before next week, it would be greatly appreciated...

What does your fat intake look like?  Try introducing some additional fats like peanut butter, and be sure you get some fat like olive oil or flax oil with each meal over the next 24 hrs.  This may sound crazy, but you also might want to go have a cheeseburger or a slice or two of pizza to jump start things.  If you've been eating the same thing everyday, chances are you're body has adapted and slowed your metabolism up to the point where fat CANNOT be burned, and you may be burning up muscle tissue to satisfy recovery after training.  Let me know how it turns out...and GOOD LUCK ON THE SHOW!

I am A guy, but Here goes, get some glycerol from GNC, It will help pull water and glycogen back into the muscles. One of the sides to t-3 is that the muscles apear to become flat the glycerol should help. Also got this tip from a dancer arobics instructor friend, Take used coffee grounds and add that to a skin lotion, this mixture will help stimulate healthy skin as well as helps pull small pockets of water and will tighter the skin giveing a better look. also 2-3 days before the show switch to drinking black coffee or unsweatened tea, this will help flush that last bit of water out. The peanut butter thing is O.K. but flax seed oil or olive oil would be better choices to add a little healthy fats to the diet. If you want to boost your metabolism then add a fat free protien shake as an after workout meal, these shakes are loaded with carbs but since your body is useing them for recovery and your metabolism should be a little bosted post work out should not be a problem. armidex is also a great addition starting about 3-4 weeks out from a comp, I know it is a little late for it know but just FYI for future ref. Hope some of any of this helps and good luck with the show.- Superfrk
