since dana is going to put these 2 together , who do you think is gonna take it.

jones is a bad dude, and i love shogun... if i had to call it its gonna be jones unless shogun pulls some shit out his ass

I think Jones would take it...He's got a long fucking reach and I think that'll play a big factor

Jones is amazing, but he hasn't fought anyone even close to Shogun's level yet. So, I'd have to think Shogun wins it.

I must agree with OX however I am going to go with Jones, I love that guy since the first time I saw him fight, I said he will be a champ one day, and that day will be soon. I dont know if he has what it takes to defeat Shogun, which is a vet with alot of experience. Im sure Shogun has been working alot on his wrestling bc he was going to fight Evans, and Jones has alot of wrestling too, other than that he has to change his training immediatley. Jones is in the best camp out there so they will tell him what he needs to do, his biggest battle will be himself to fight thru this tremendous pressure, 23 years old going for the UFC belt. He already was more timid w/ Bader so I dont think he will be relaxed and throw so much crazy shit with Rua either. We shall see tho

I think Jones will learn from this fight, but unless he can pull off something amazing, Shogun's experience will win out.

Akiyama was affected by the earthquake and had to drop out of this weekend's event...

Middleweight Yoshihiro Akiyama has withdrawn from his UFC 128 bout set for March 19 against Nate Marquardt, a result of Friday's massive earthquake and tsunami that debilitated the 33-year-old fighter's home country of Japan.

New Jersey native Dan Miller (14-4) will step in for Akiyama (13-3) against Marquardt (30-10-2), UFC president Dana White said in a statement on UFC.com.

A lot of these Pride guys seem to have faded lately. Fedor may have finally lost his invincibility. Cro Cop was never the same fighter in the UFC. I need to see Rampage again to know for sure if he's still got it. Anderson Silva is still going strong, but that is only until he faces GSP.

I just seen an interview with Jones on espn and espn2 and his (Jones) older brother plays in the NFL for the Baltimore Ravens and his younger brother plays for Syracuse. So he comes from a very genticly gifted family. Just thought that was some cool info i would toss out there.

Never knew that, who's the brother that plays for the Ravens? Maybe they can set up a cage match with Jon Jones and Ray Lewis

Oh c'mon Silva would dismantle GSP bro lol, I dont think gsp is strong enough to pancake his victory over Silva, and that would be his only chance

Yup I have followed Jones since his first fight that I saw him in on ufc, where I told my wife, Jon Jones will one day be a champ, so hopefully im right. He was dq'ed from the Hamill fight, with no warnings which is bs and it ruined his perfect record, and at 22 years old he was as humble as could be about it, even though everyone considered him winning that fight. He is a great young athlete and hopefully he continues with his great attitude as well, if so I will always be a fan

Yeah, I still consider him to be undefeated. He was totally dominating Hammill when they stopped it. I still remember his fight with Stephan Bonnar. In one fight he did two or three things I'd never seen in a fight before. I was probably sitting there with my mouth hanging open in disbelief.

But, I think GSP would have no trouble with Silva. He's too smart to stand with him and Silva can't stop his takedown. GSP has handled some serious wrestlers over the years and you saw how defenseless Silva was against Sonnen. Also, I think GSP would be the stronger fighter. He's dropping to welterweight from nearly 200 lbs. He could come into the fight with Silva at 210 or 215.

Yea I prolly had my mouth hung open in amazment as well.

Now GSP is a great wrestler and Silva will not be able to avoid his takedown, but I dont think GSP is strong enough to keep him down, as of now GSP cuts from about 190-195 to 170 however Silva cuts from about 220 to fight at 185. Sonnen held him down, but is far better a wrestler than GSP, I think hes prolly 1 of the top 3 in the ufc, and Sonnen used to fight at 205, so Im sure he sits up pretty high naturally as well.
