Kind of annoying to me that Bispings last fight he got over 300k and Aldo is top 3 P4P in the world and he got have of what that Brit low level nothing of a fighter got

Yeah, I always wonder how the fighters themselves feel to have their paychecks on public display like that when they are busting their asses day in and day out and fighting for their dreams... and then their opponent makes double or triple what they made.

Brock made $400k to get his ass beat by Cain at UFC 121. Velasquez made $300k ($200k, plus $100k win bonus!)

You guys are looking at it all wrong. Brock brings in viewers. No one wants to see Cain. Cain's name on a poster will not get PPV buys. And Bisping is huge in the UK he is a big reason for the growth in popluarity there. This is a business and the fighters who make the UFC money deserve their cut even if they lose. Look at what Ken Shamrock did for UFC popularity. His feud with Tito helped put the UFC on the map. That season of TUF drew huge ratings and their PPV was a huge success. He was a lousy fighter at that point, but look at what he did for the UFC.

That was awesome! After all the talking Bisping did on TUF, it was great to see him laid out.

They still make decent money for 15 minutes of fighting or 25 minutes of fighting.

Ox - I know it's all about ratings... I just wonder how the fighters feel about that. If you took two people at my job in the same position, doing the same job and one's paycheck doubles the other - imagine if that was a public fact? It probably wouldn't go over so well.

I guess it's prestigious enough just to be in the UFC, so if they are fortunate enough to make enough money not to require an additional fulltime job, then I guess it's worth it for them. If I got paid my salary to be a UFC ring girl a few times a year, you definitely wouldn't hear me complaining!!! ;) So I guess I could see that...

I've watched it many times since, that was my favorite knockout of all time, mainly because I hate Bisping that much

I see what you are saying, but I guess it's just like any other sport. Do fighters have agents like other athletes who negotiate their contracts with the UFC?

I've never heard of them having agents, but I'd say there's probably at least someone who they can talk to about it. Or maybe Dana just spells everything out for them so that they can understand it. Who knows, but it brings up a good question

i bet, like many other athletes, that the money they make in sponsorships for advertising is more than their salary. And not bad salary for one fight. Most guys fight more than once a year.

They all pretty much have managers, and they are on contract for salary. If they take a specific fight on short notice the pay can change, as well as bonuses (which are alot) and the money they get under the table, which I know the UFC does with its fighters that do well.

I figured they had to have some kind of manager, I mean a lot of them aren't the smartest bunch of guys in the world

I know some of the guys are educated and aren't dumb, but I'm sure there's a few that would shock me. It'd be nice to see a list of the degrees certain guys have, I guarantee I'd be shocked
