overtraining on AS

I hear from some people to only train each muscle once a week even while on AS, then I hear from other people that I can train muscles more than once a week while on AS. What the hell, which is it? Also how would I know if I overtrained?

i would say that is all based on YOU...YOUR body...how it feels and how it reacts...regardless whether or not u r on AS or not....personally i train 2 body parts only when i feel i am in a plateau or whatever and when i do that i can only do that for about 4-5 weeks and the i need to go back to the normal 1 major body part per week.that is only MY personal routine and u must tailor yours to YOU.

ps....the only reason that people say that u can train twice a day on AS is cuz they have more drive and determination in the gym cuz of the pumps and what not....ask yourself this...y not train just as hard and intense when off as well as on??!! just some food for thought.

i destroyed a lot of my gains off of my first cycle.Mainly becuse im a martial arts junkie. I was into 1 1/2 hours of intense form work + 12-16 heavy sets. Strenght gains were nice but i didnt get the mass that most people get. hopefully i wont make the same mistake twice. I plan on only hitting the intese cardio only three times a week w/6 days of heavy lifting. but as far as twice a week for bodyparts i like what ded said. I like to hit certian muscle groups light once and heavy the next. This approach has given me some thick traps.

Hey Strenghtrip what type of Martial arts do you do ??

Being on does increase the speed at which your tissue recovers from a workout.  For instance, it may normally take 7 days for your quads to recover from a leg workout off cycle, and 5 days to recover while on-cycle.  Although AAS speeds up recovery, it may not speed it up enough to let you train a bodypart twice each week...you have to see for yourself when the muscle soreness is gone and it feels strong enough to train again.

To get growth all you need to do if you are training hard enougth is to train each body part once a week and that should be for about 1 hr 15 mins max any more than that and your body is in a catobolic state.Taking gear IMO doesnt meen you can train for hours at a time,it just helps in recovery and the ability to lift more thus stimulating more muscle fibres.

Just because you are using AAS, doesn't mean you can't overtrain.  It takes approximatly 18 days for most muscle groups to recover from a hard training session.  So, AAS just gets you closer to complete recovery, before you train that muscle group again.  In other words, don't train more, than you would if you weren't using AAS, just train harder during your sessions!! Later
