Running & Lifting Races

Just as an FYI to all those females out there who likle to run in races (5 or 10K).

Recently, I have come across races in my area (PA), where you run a 5K and then do a bench press competition afterwards. Women have to bench 60% of their weight as many times as they can.  Every rep that they do takes 30 seconds off their running time.  Thes best time wins.  Not bad when you can win between $100/$300/$500 dollars.

A lot of times, a lot of females do not enter because they are not that strong!   They have this for males also, but they have to bench their own weight.

I am doing one this weekend and I hope I win :)

I live about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia, PA.  The race was in Kennet Square, PA (35 minutes from my house).  I actually came in first place for my age group for the run (just running) and the Power run (lifting and running).

Next year I would like to come in 1st place overall for the women, therefore I would have to do 75 lbs (60% of my weight) at least 45/50 times.  Some of the women are hard core :) .  There is one in 2 weeks in Jennersville, PA.  If you type Pump & Run into a search engine on the internet, you can find a lot of them in the area.

Thanks! and Good Luck
P.S. You usually do the bench press before the run
