Packers going public

Did you guys hear the Green Bay Packers are selling part of the team in stock? I think they said they are selling 250,000 shares of stock at $250 per share. You can own part of a Super Bowl Champion!

its always been a publicly owned team through stocks and shareholders, i think they are just now deciding to sell more shares because they need to. I seen on espn today that once a year they have an annual stock holders meeting at the stadium, and roughly 15,000 people show up,lmao

Thats crazy isnt it! I wonder what they do at that meeting, prolly give a couple speeches and thank them for their support,lol.

I think you can only purchase a couple hundreds shares max at a time, but its still awsome that you can be a small minority owner in the team.

To me this is a scam. The stocks are worthless, you cant do anything with them and they have no value once you buy one. Its just a way they are getting money from the fans to help pay the bills. Even if you bought all 250,000 of them, you wouldnt have a say to anything, nor be recognized. Hell you are not even entitled to free tickets or great seats.

Exactly!!!!! Waste of money in my OP.

correct...the stock is a novelty really.....there's no chance in hell to buy a big chuck of them.....but part of the stock sale is because season tickets seats opening up and also an addition of 6500 more seats will be added during the offseason

Now, I remember...at least the part about the whole town showing up to the stock holder's meeting.

If I was a Packers fan, I'd buy one just to get the certificate just because it'd be a nice thing to hang in your sports room
