This is my video from last year when MC had the contest to see who could bench press their body weight the most times.

22 reps isn't bad, I'm lucky, I'm light right now so if we had this, I'd get a lot or at least I think I would

I'd like to think I could get 30 reps up of my bodyweight, but I've never tried it so I don't know

I need to try it again to see if I can do any more. My body weight hasn't gone up a whole lot, but I've gained a lot of strength.

Good job Ox.. I bet if you had someone spotting you...You would of got 5 more reps...

Yeah, I should have grabbed a spotter. The only person close was my wife who was shooting the video, so I thought if I try another and get stuck, she'll have to drop the camera and try to help me...

I bet you could get more now. We should try this again now that we have some more active members. I would try to get in it as long as it's after the first of the year

Yeah, it would be fun to do it again. But, Dude's wife would probably beat us all.

you know what they say, if your smiling on the bench your not pushing enough weight lol

Is that what they say? I might try this again soon just to see if I can beat 22. I'm lifting a lot more than a year ago, but I don't know how this translates over into endurance...

you should do your body weight with dumbbells and see how many time you can get it, now that would be hard

You'll do a lot more than you think bro. If you weigh around 180 and can only get 90# dumbbells 6 times I'd be very displeased with you. Hell I can get that and you've got a few pounds on me

Well, maybe you guys are right. I got up to 85's my last workout for 6 reps. But, that was after doing bench press and incline bench press. So, if I started with the 90 pound dumbbells fresh and tried for max reps, maybe I could crank out 10-12, but probably not 22.

It's harder to compare dumbbells to barbell presses though. It's a totally different monster so I wouldn't think you could go rep for rep on them. So I think if you can get 12-15 reps you'd be fine
