Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, also known as "Big Nog", is expected to return to training in March according to tatame.com.

"The prediction is that he comes back in March, and he will get ready to fight in the middle of the year," Rogerio Nogueira, Nogueira's twin brother, said.

Nogueira is currently recovering from an arm breaking defeat to Frank Mir at UFC 140. Despite dropping Mir from strikes, Nogueira opted to go for a submission once the fight hit the ground. Mir wasted no time in sinking in a kimura submission on Nogueira. Unwilling to tapout, Mir broke Nogueira's arm, damaging his shoulder and elbow in a process Mir compared to "opening a bag of chips".

Nogueira has since undergone surgery to repair the damaged ligaments in his arm but recovery will still take time.

"He was in pain for a while, like a week, and he couldn't do much because of the stitches, but now he's doing physiotherapy, moving his arm, pressuring the ball... He's regaining all his moves," Rogerio Nogueira said.

Even when fully recovered, a huge question mark still lingers on whether or not Nogueira can fight like he once did. Conventional wisdom says no but Nogueira has made a career from prevailing through obstacles.

He should have known better. There is no pride in getting injured instead of tapping. And, someone of his skill level should know if he can escape the move or not.
