Why Did You Start Training?

Just curious how everyone on here got interested in working out. Ladies (what few will talk :) ) chime in! I started working out when I could not compete in gymnastics or track anymore, broken wrists and ankles will do that to you! Used to think lifting weights was boring, but started it and soon loved it! I don't know how to do anything in moderation, lol. Love to hear how you all got into it.

i had always been thin played sports and just decided to join a gym at 17. I got hooked and never been without it since. I went in not having a clue. I thought it was a joke in high school. Why the hell anyone want to lift heavy shit?!! LOL

I started because I was muscular and didn't want to lose it LOL!! Wait a minute, I have a penis, I shouldn't be in here LOL!

Yes Dude I need help, and thanks to all the guys who come in here as well. Still waiting for more ladies to join, don't know why they don't post.

LOL sometime I still wonder about that even though I do it! :)

Well for one reason you can do alot of it by yourself and don't need to depend on another player, but I think when people really get the feel and correct way of lifting weights without injury and see results of change then addiction kicks in. One of the best mental stress relievers ever ,unless you are doing it to compete. Whole nother story..

Similar to lightsout, I was a sparse 6'2" 165lbs. Tired of being the skinny guy.

I feel for you tall men and women, it takes so much more muscle to make you look bigger, give you guys lots of credit!

The opening segment of Bigger, Stronger, Faster perfectly explains why I started training. I grew up idolizing Hulk Hogan, Arnold, Stallone, others like them. That's the way I always wanted to be.

I was in 9th grade football and remember this bodybuilder type dude that would run the track at the football field during practice. I was hooked on looking like this dude from that point. Still trying to get there to this day....

As long as I can remember I've liked women with muscle. That was my idea of the perfect female body...not skinny sick looking girls. Then in high school we had to take a mandatory class... 2 days on the track (hated that), one day in class learning about nutrition and 2 days in the weight room. I was hooked. I loved the feeling of sore muscles the next day because it felt like I was growing huge muscles (I wasn't just fyi, lol). Fast forward 12 or so years and I met The Dude. Training with him for about 4 years now and finally have the muscles I've always wanted...and we lived happily ever after. The end. :pleased:

My whole life I have been that skinny girl with an a**. Lol :) Thinking back for many yrs i always loved the fitness women with the defined shoulder muscles and abs and quads....you get the picture. So....that is what i have been striving for and then some. I WILL reach my ultimate goals....I have made great strides thus far. :)
