Hey everyone! I am a newbie and wanted to introduce myself. My husband is a member (exbeanpole) and told me about the new Female Fitness & Bodybuilding section. We both thought that is just what I need, input from ladies and men too! I do not discriminate any offered tips/suggestions! lol

I am 5'6" 110lbs and have been weight training for years but my training was pretty much put on hold for a while during my pregnancy back in 2008. I have since started back training and have lost all the baby weight and am working towards the goals I have had for years which is to build muscle!! I am currently in the midst of another training pause as I had breast augmentation surgery done about 17 days ago. Dr. gave the green light on light lower body training and minimal cardio just early last week. I was eager to get that started. I am not cleared to do ANY upper body training for another couple of weeks. I CAN NOT wait to be able to do upper body training again and to have no restrictions at all for my whole body!!

So...any tips or suggestions that you ladies or men may have for re-starting my training would be much appreciated!!!

I look forward to being a part of this forum as it is a valuable tool with a wealth of knowledge for all! :sport:

My wife Silk and Jenn will be more than happy to help you along with specifics. So I will just go with what I know. Make sure your husband massages the hell out of the new additions and go by Dr's orders on anything strenuous so close after the surgery. The desire to get back in the gym will build and when you can get in there, still be cognizant of the implants. You're going to have to go super light on single joint movements and nothing for chest for a while. Also squats will take a while. One good option for the legs when you're further along will be the stair climber.

Yes!!!!! Another female!!! :) Welcome Lil Lifter!!! So glad to have you on here. Congrats on your implants :). It has been awhile since I have had mine done, they are dusty lol. I would think that light leg extensions, light standing hamstring curls, seated calf raises would be ok to get started. And any cardio that is comfortable for you. No worries, you will be able to get back at it soon enough!!!

Thanks ya'll for the warm welcome and good recommendations! I'm so used to not having restrictions like this so it's definitely an adjusrment for me! But....patience is golden for now! THANKS again! :)

Watch out guys, we're 3 girls strong now! I'm about to go to bed but wanted to welcome you to MC. I'm new here also. I just had my surgery last Feb. Needless to say listen to the Dr and listen to you body. I keep track of all my workouts so I'll go over the exercises I was doing back then and the kind of weights I was using. I'll see if I can be any help, but at a later day cuz I'm sleepy. Again, welcome and I'll be excited to hear your point of view on the many topics that pop up. Now off to bed :drooling:

Thanks Jenn for the advice and encouragement! As I said...Dr gave me the OK on light lower body which was just on Tuesday and I was in the gym on Wednesday. I have done a few of the things as you suggested thus far. Felt fine!! :) Cardio is a bit of a challenge as Dr said he doesnt want my heart rate up for at least another couple of weeks. So "light" is the word for a bit! Thanks again! :)

First of all congrats on the new boobies!!! I got mine a year and 4 days ago...not that I'm keeping track or anything :) I took about a month off from the gym and for lower body I started using only half the weight of my previous best at the time. Upper body I used very light weight just to get a pump and to feel where my body was at as far as recovery. If anything pulled on my chest or just didn't feel right I stopped immediately. Better safe than sorry. I didn't do anything for chest for quite a while, just some stretching. Oh and did you go under or over the muscle? I went under. The best advice I can give is go slow and listen to to your body. I know that sounds obvious, but when you're itchin to get back to your old routine and like to lift heavy like I do it's easier said than done. But just from reading your posts it sounds like you're being smart. I'm back to lifting heavy on every body part except chest. I still just lift enough to get a pump. Oh and make sure you get the hubby to massage them often. That part sounds real nice, but it's not...it hurts!!! Ya gotta do it if you want them feeling soft and natural when they've settled. The fun massages will come later ;) Have fun shopping and we want pics! Joking...LOL!

Yes Pic!!!! This will be the most popular forum on here! jk
Hope you heal up soon and great advice Silk. :)

Silk is already planning her laser schedule with her diet and tanning so she can get some good pics. Bless her heart I hear about her plan for an hour a night. It's so cute. She's so enthusiastic!

THANK YOU Silk!!:) yes when i started back doing light lower body last week i didnt know where to start as far as what weight to use. I just felt my way and actually it turns out that i am pretty much doing about half my presurgery lifting weights. :) i went under the muscle. So yea its scary just lightly pulling on things. But not even trukng anything for another 10 days and then o will be 1mo post op. Yes....loving the shopping thus far! Lol :) Pics to come soon! :) thanks for the advice!! :)

Yes, I'm a bit of a dork like that. I gotta keep myself excited about it or it'll never happen. Lucky for The Dude I have Jenn now so I can drive her crazy too! Sooooo back to Lil Lifter, how're the boobies? Everything still feel ok at the gym? :bench: HAHA just wanted to use that pic. Hope all is well.
