The Philadelphia Eagles were anything but a "Dream Team" last season, but they're Plaxico Burress' dream team now.

The free-agent wide receiver, looking for a job after a one-and-done with the New York Jets, told a Philadelphia radio station Tuesday that he wants to sign with the Eagles and be reunited with his childhood friend, Michael Vick.

"Hey, man, nothing else would make me happier," said Burress, a guest on the "Brian Baldinger & Harry Mayes Show" on 97.5 The Fanatic ESPN Radio. Burress said he would add a "unique dynamic" to the Eagles' offense, joining a receiving corps that includes DeSean Jackson (a free agent) and Jeremy Maclin. Burress said he talks once or twice a week with Vick, and he believes it would be a "special deal" to team up with him because of their friendship and similar background.

"I really believe he can bring a championship to Philadelphia, and I'd love to be part of that," Burress said.

Like Vick, Burress restarted his NFL career after a prison sentence. Two months after being released, Burress signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Jets. He became an immediate starter, finishing with 45 catches (third on the team) for 612 yards and eight touchdowns. He was one of the most productive red-zone receivers in the league, but he faded down the stretch.

Burress said the Jets have "left the door open for me to make a decision to come back," but the team has no immediate plans to re-sign him, according to a league source. Burress turns 35 in August, and the Jets want to get younger at receiver.

General manager Mike Tannenbaum was non-committal at the end of the season, "He's really an interesting guy and he was a really good teammate. Free agency is a couple of months away, and we'll look at everything."

Burress, who said it took him about six or seven games last season to get comfortable, believes he'll be better now that he's had a full season of post-prison football.

"Going into this year, I'm going to be a lot stronger and getting back to doing some of the things I know I can do," he said, adding, "I think this year coming up I'm going to be like my old self."

They're definitely going to need the talent he's got left if they lose Jackson. I know they had such high hopes this past season so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't sign Plaxico
