Sources: Peyton Manning favors AFC

Peyton Manning's camp is aiming to make a decision on where he will play next season within the next week, according to sources, who add that while Manning prefers to stay in the AFC, he is open to playing in the NFC.

Sources say 12 teams reached out to Peyton Manning's representatives on Wednesday, after he was released, to gauge his interest in playing for their teams. Many of the teams already have been publicized, but some inevitably will want to keep it secret.
Of those 12 teams, sources tell ESPN that the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and New York Jets have actually been in contact with Manning's representatives.
The Dallas Cowboys, however, aren't one of the 12 teams with interest in Manning. A high-ranking team source told ESPN's Ed Werder on Thursday that the team remains committed to Tony Romo and will not pursue, contact or demonstrate any interest in Manning.
The Indianapolis Colts officially released Manning on Wednesday and he will become a free agent and be eligible to negotiate and sign with teams as soon as he clears waivers Thursday. The 14-year veteran does not need to wait until the free-agent period that begins next Tuesday, and he acknowledged his agent already was taking calls.
"I have no idea who wants me, what team wants me, how this process works," Manning told a group of reporters in South Florida, where he has a home and flew after the news conference Wednesday. "I don't know if it's like college recruiting where you go take visits. I mean, this is all so new to me."
Manning missed the entire 2011 season after having his third neck surgery in 19 months, a fusion of two vertebrae. But Dr. Robert Watkins, who performed the single-level cervical fusion, has stated publicly that he has cleared Manning to resume his playing career and the damaged nerves have regenerated to the point where Manning has thrown the ball with greater distance and velocity in the past few weeks

I think Peyton will land in Miami.. And if he dose i think they will get Reggie Wayne to..

I can't believe Denver is on the list after the season they had. Peyton in Miami would not be a bad idea though.

I think Miami is going to be it. They sign him and Reggie Wayne as a package deal, they have Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush. Jake Long to watch Mannings blind side. Instant contender IMO.

Plus Wayne went to UM and Manning has a home in Miami.

This is all but a done deal IMO.

I know they're saying that, I just think something is going to pop up and he'll stray away from Miami. I could be wrong, just have that feeling that he won't choose Miami.

But I wouldn't mind seeing Miami back on top for a change. I'd hate to see him go to Denver since my sister and bro in law are Broncos fans.

I just read where they are now saying Peyton favors Denver and Arizona, seems like things are changing daily and I'm sure that John Elway filled his ear full of shit

I just can't believe Elway is bailing on Tebow so quickly. I know that Tebow is no Manning, but he's made big bucks for Denver.

yep, its crazy in my opinon, but Manning is proven and if healthy has 3 good years in him, and maybe Tebow can learn something, who knows

Now I hear that the Titans are making a strong bid. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Why would he go to Tenneessee? They are horrid.

IMHO the only other place he'd go is Denver. Great O line, great running game and Fox is a defensive minded coach who would let Manning have free reign of the offense.

He went to school in Tennessee, TN has no income tax, and they are offering him a front office position when he is through playing. Plus they are far from horrid, they barely missed the playoffs and have the best running back in football.

Had the best running back. I'd much rather have a Ray Rice or an Adrian Peterson. IMO Chris Johnson had one good year then shit the bed.

I'm on the fence on CJ, he had a great year, but without help he's not going to get many yards like Peterson, Rice, or Jones-Drew. They will always get their yards no matter who's at the helm

And don't forget what division the Titans are in. Peyton already knows the teams and could get some quick payback on the Colts.

I don't think he's looking for payback, he seemed to really be understanding during the whole process as hard as that was or is to believe
