I think a lot of people have differing opinions on this subject. I am curious about what yalls thoughts are. :D

it all depends on recovery, and everybody recovers faster than others.

Although I would love to train everyday, I find I get better results when I take time off to rest. So for me I'd say there is a such thing as too much training.

I take longer to recover than Silk does. It sucks, but that's what how it is. I train each muscle group like once every 9 days. It's all I can take and sometimes that's too much

I probably overtrain, but I'm really considering trying something insane that I've never seen done before with my training split to see if it works for me. I'm thinking of quads on Monday and Thursday and chest on Tuesday and Friday with back on Wednesday. Then the next week Shoulders Monday and Thursday and quads on Tuesday and Friday with arms on Wednesday or something similar to this. I'm still working on the fine details of what on which day and such. This way I kill my weaker parts twice a week, but get a week off in between

But to answer the question, I think it all depends on how you recover and where you're at in your training

Yes there is. You do not grow in the gym contrary to many beliefs, you grow when you are at rest and eating properly. When I get more rest I grow better.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I was curious. I seem to want to do some sort of training almost every day but know that its probably too much. As my hubby, Exbeanpole, reminds me..."if it is supppsed to be a day off...then take it!" He's right! LOL :) He usually is. ;)

I don’t do any intense cardio on weight days only because I want to make sure I make my lifting the most intense possible. It just depends on your priorities.
But yeah, you can definitely train too much. Adequate recovery is a lot of the equation — especially once you start training at a high intensity.
