Now I'm not a major league baseball watcher much and I did not know this.. All baseball field homerun distances can vary stadium to stadium. Weird or am I stupid ? Reason for my question is Safeco field of the mariners here are moving the wall 17ft CLOSER towards home plate in some areas.. So all these homerun stats and records I feel dont mean shit..

There's a lot Of variables when it comes to home run distances. You can figure in things like stadium vs out door parks, wind currents (like the one here in the ballpark of Arlington there's basically a jet stream to left field on days when the wind blows from the south, short walls vs. tall walls, yankee stadium has what they call a home run porch because that fence is so short. Every ballpark has something unique about their structure, it doesn't make that much of a difference.

No, it won't make much difference at all because in hotter weather the ball travels better so there's always factors and calculations to determining what the distance should be to make it fair to the players and the integrity of the game
